How are you going in International Cricket 2010?

Why does everyone hate this game? I've been playing since I got the game late last year when it was released in Australia. I love it. I get fairly realistic scores without stat editing when playing on hard, minimal HUD.

I just played an epic t20 in my IPL campaign as Chennai against Dehli. I batted first and made 6/205.
After a shaky start, Bravo and Morkel shared a good partnership and scored 66* & 55 respectively. Andrew McDonald was the pick of the bowlers taking 1/28 from his 4 overs.
In reply the AI batted aggressively but no batsmen could occupy the crease. That is, except for David Warner who batted brilliantly for his 94* coming off just 51 balls.
Dehli ended up needing 15 from the final over to win. McDonald was on strike. He drove the first ball of the over through the covers and scrambled through for a single. Warner then smashed the next ball over mid on for 6. Dehli required 8 from 4 balls. The 3rd ball of the over beat Warner and outside the off stump and was a dot ball. 8 from 3 balls. Warner then flicked the 4th ball of the over through the leg side and could only manage a single. McDonald was faced with the task of 8 runs from 2 balls. He took a massive swipe across the line on the final 2 balls of the game and missed both times. I won by 7 runs!

Hi,

hopefully a couple of straight forward question,
Is it possible to watch a AI controlled match and/or chg this mid match?

Thanks

Yes it is possible, but only for series' I think. If you select both teams as user controlled at the start of the series you can play for either side or watch the AI v AI throughout the series.

@timchrist984,

That seems one hell of a game! I'm terrible at t20's on hard, always seem to top-edge it through to the 'keeper when I try and smash it!

Credit for holding your nerves on the final over though; especially with Warner seeming to be on top form, you must have thought he was gonna hit you round the park and win it for them :clap

Played another ripping t20 that came down to the last over.
Chennai (me) v Punjab (AI).
They won the toss and elected to field.

I batted and made 9/174 off my 20 overs. Mike Hussey top scored with 54 and MS Dhoni contributed with a quick fire 35. The pick of the bowlers was Piyush Chawla who took 2/22 off his 4 overs.

In reply Punjab batted sensibly and looked like chasing my score comfortably. However, after they reached 2/91, I took 3 quick fire wickets for just 10 runs and the momentum was back in my favour.

In the end they needed 10 runs to win off the last over. Nuwan Kulasekara beat Ryan McLaren for pace on the first ball of the over and it was a dot ball. McLaren then hit back and hooked the next ball through mid-wicket for 4. Kulasekara then over-pitched on an attempted slower ball and saw the ball sailing over mid on for another 4. With 3 balls left, Punjab needed just 2 to win. McLaren pushed the 4th ball of the over through the leg side for a single. This put Piyush Chawla on strike. Chawla kept a cool head and flicked the 2nd last ball of the game through the leg side for a single. I lost by 4 wickets with just one ball remaining.

Played a thrilling first test of my 3 match series between England (me) and Sri Lanka (AI)

Sri Lanka won the toss and batted on a bowler friendly Cardiff pitch. They were rolled out for 157 in just 41 overs. Samaraweera top scored with a hard fought 51. The pick of the bowlers was Graeme Swann who took 4/26. Anderson also bowled well taking 3/52.

In reply, England got off to shaky start and looked like they would go all out for under 100. Matt Prior and Graeme Swann steadied the ship with 32 and 44 respectively to take England's score to 158. The pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers was Suranga Lakmal who took 3/36.

Sri Lanka's 2nd innings looked like it was played on a different pitch. A superb double hundred from Dilshan took them to a mammoth 411. The best English bowlers were Swann and Finn who took 3/100 and 3/103 repectively.

This meant that England had the better part of 3 days to chase down 411.They got off to a solid start with Strauss and Cook putting on 43 for the first wicket. However once the openers fell, wickets started to tumble. Eion Morgan battled hard for his 43, but Trott, Pietersen and Bell all made less than 25.

England were in serious trouble at 6/154, but Swann and Prior dug in and shared a partnership 110 for the 7th wicket. Eventually, just after tea on day 3, Rangana Herath was introduced in to the attack. He trapped Swann LBW for 40, then bowled Anderson for a duck. Prior and Tremlett then batted carefully and made sure England were only 8 down at stumps.

The next morning Prior pushed at a wide one and got an outside edge that carried nicely to 2nd slip. However, luckily for England, Dilshan dropped a simple catch. Prior and Tremlett took the score to 337 before disaster struck and all hope of England winning seemingly went out the window. Prior edged one to to the keeper who dropped it. Prior though the ball was running away to fine leg so he took of for the run. Tremlett quickly sent him back, but it was too late. Prior was out, run out for 135. Finn and Tremlett mustered up another 23 runs before Finn was bowled by Perera for 11. Sri Lanka ended up winning by 50 runs halfway through the morning session on day 4.

Played an epic ODI between England (AI) and Prime Minister's XI (Me) at Sydney.

I won the toss and elected to bat. I smashed 9/329 off my 50 overs. Tim Paine top scored with a fast paced 76. Michael Hill and Usman Khawaja also batted well for scores of 57 and 40 respectively. For England, Bopara, Anderson and Swann all picked up 2 wickets, with Broad taking 1.

In reply, they got off to a steady start before Starc had Prior out cutting straight in to the hands of Aaron Finch. Trott and Cook then batted well to take the score to 96. Trott eventually edged behind off Beer for 37. The new man in was Kevin Pietersen. Cook and KP then shared an 107 run partnership for the third wicket.

At 2/207 England were looking good, but Dan Christian bowled Pietersen a fast yorker and he was out LBW for a 73 ball 69. Bell, Morgan and Bopara then all fell in quick succession.

It looked to be over for England when Starc trapped Cook LBW for a hard fought 115. But Stuart Broad came to the crease and started hitting big. He raced to 22 from just 10 balls, meaning England needed 17 at a run a ball with just one wicket in hand.

The inexperienced Broad tried to end the game with a bang. He attempted a wild slog over the leg side and missed completely. Copeland had his man and it was all over for England. They were all out for 303, meaning they lost by 16 runs.

Sorry about the low quality scorecards. I took them on my iPod.

I am enjoying PatchPavilion's t20 Patch (Tim's & I's) I support Middlesex & Kent & I played a thrilling Game play in the second round of super 8's against Derbyshire in a t10 One Day I Got 109/9 off 10.0 Paul Stirling Making the only good score of 31 off 17 & Ryan Mclaren Made quick enrodes of 17 off 8. Curston Hughes bowled well for derby and was hard to play and took 3/21 off 2.0. In the 2nd Innings smith made a similar 31 off 16 then was dismissed unfairly lbw in the last over dalrymple bowled well 4/16 off 2.0 and Smith Bowled very expensively 1/41 off 2.0. In the Last Over They required 8 from 5 with smith facing on 31 yorker at 66MPH forcing batsman to go legside .... Edged into his pads 8 from 4 smith facing simpson standing up, forcing the batsman to stay in his crease yorker ... LBW shout..... OUT!!!!!... Close call hard to tell if hit him in line I reckon it was unlucky and hawk eye says missing leg by 2 inches...... anyway we exposed the tail-end No.7 & 8 were in and dangerman smith with nearly a strike rate of 200 was out ...... 8 from 3...... Yorker Leg Side dodges the outfield for four..... Hands On Hips.....4 from 2.... Yorker leg sided dot ball...... Last ball yorker legside 68.3MPH edged caught behind a close game at Edgbaston but Middlesex clung on in until the end despite the lack of focus (my lack of focus) the man of the match was definitely dalrymple 8 from 2 then run out 8 from 3 & superb figures that kept us in the game 4/16 off 2.0...

A few words from Middlesex Captain Dexter: " I feel that this season we have played better than any other t20 tournament we've particapated in & and a huge thank you to dalrymple for superb bowling " Nasser Hussain: " Are you looking to change the side for tommorrow against worcestershire?"
dexter"No we've played well with this team and I think we should keep it till we come across a problem... hopefully you will see a captain's knock tommorrow"Nasser Hussain " All the best and congragulations on being top in the league having only lost one game against nottinghamshire with a NRR of 1.02.

Going against the grain I am loving this game

Finally after heavy tweaking of stats, got AI to post competitive 1st innings test score

Me (England) v India (AI) at Lord's on HARD level. I bowl wth no hud and bat with minimal hud

India made 372 a/o off 105 overs at 3.54 rpo

Will post scorecard if I can - no batsman have over 100 strike rate and no sixes

Yes plenty of lofted shots but only 1 resulted in a catch. About 4 dropped catches in entire innings (they came along so rarely I often wasn't prepared)

So at drinks on day 2 - interesting to see how I get on batting

You must be awesome at this game. I find India are hard enough playing on minimal HUD for bowling.

Always enjoyed bowling in cricket games and this is best game for bowling imo

I find getting perfect bowling execution is key to restricting run rate, even more so than bowling 'in the right spots' (as far as game is concerned)

I tried batting with no HUD but its just no fun - if the bowling cursor appeared a couple of seconds before delivery to give you a chance to decide what shot to play, it would be great. But alas you don't and I don't enjoy it

Yeah, I have to agree with you there. This game has the best bowling of all cricket games I've played. I just end up bowling 2-3 no balls every over when using HUD off. I guess I just need to practice more.

And HUD off batting is a good idea, but could be better. I would like to see the marker come up just before the ball is bowled (cricket 05 style) instead of not at all. It would be cool if we could set the exact timing of when the marker showed up. ie. Using a slider

Yes practise more was all I did. Sounds simple but you need to press button a fraction before bowler releases ball - some animations are easier than others but I persevered and not too bad now

Yes batting marker slider or linked into skill level to determine when ball marker appears would be excellent

My bowling effort is below. Whether coincidence or not, I found being a first day wicket, Swann couldn't get close to a wicket with recognised batsman. It was only at start of day 2 when lower order in did the chances come for him

Also I got a couple of wickets bowling to a plan. Favourite was laxman where I bowled 3 short pitched deliveries and then bowled a yorker and clean bowled him - jumped out of my seat :D

I find I always bowl better with the Broad slingy actions and the lee actions. I find some if them really annoying. Also, is HUD off advisable for limited over play?
