How did you get into cricket?

I can't remember tbh. I do remember being a 4-5 year old and watching cricket all day on the T.V, then when the over finished I would run out and bowl 3-4 balls on the back porch.

At school, in year 4, we played informal cricket every now and then. I found it fun, but now I am really serious.

Cricket if my life now.

Giving my age away here but it was Headingly 81...Botham and Willis.

I followed total World Cup 2003 but din't watch again.
After that, the only match I saw completely was Australia VS South Africa 435 run chase.
and then, from T20 world championship of 2007.
I was not following it with total concentration but I was watching it just like that.
But, TBH, my bro was a crucial inn my cricketing carrier.
He was daily dropping me to coaching and he picked me up after the coaching....
Thank you Yuvaraj. (My bro, he even is a leftie:p:p)

Always been interested in it, mainly due to my cousins being in to it. My own immediate family, do nothing other than motor racing, due to several family connections. (Uncle held European speed record for Pro Stock drag bike, ~160mph). I always loved watching us play in the mid to late 90s. Probably only really been in to cricket, as my current nutter self who delights in having two cricket related jobs, for about 6 years, due to our championship win in 03.

You are old.

Sorry, had to be said :p

Yep...not feeling it though! Not only young guys like cricket or posting on forums.:D Or is their ageism going on here??;) Anyway I can still see Bob Willis's mass of hair blowing as he trundled in. From the boundrary rope! Must be the longest run-up in cricket history. It would take him about 3 minutes to trudge back to his starting spot, shoulders drooping, as if he had the whole world on his shoulders, but my word, what a wonderful spell of bowling. If you haven't seen it look it up!

Cheers,

Dutchad

I'm a late starter, but it was the 06/07 Ashes for me. I took a slight interest at the start, until I saw Gilly's second quickest century and I've been hooked ever since :)

It was on the TV when I was young dad was a fan so I would watch it with him, loved watching the ODis as a kid I remember one summer South Africa was touring about 1993-4 or there abouts and I rushed him as it was the first test, used to like to mock Allan Donald at the time...I'd watch the Aussies/Windies tour before school a lot as well as a kid.

Sports are my life really I love sports, and I love cricket and the Ashes and the Australia/India series in Australia brought my love of Test match cricket back. I loathe the IPL, Twenty20 is not too bad in small doses, but I am not a real fan though.
