I will be using Lambourne/Owzat Games International Cricket to simulate the entire 1983/4 BCCP Patron's Trophy from Pakistan.
International Cricket is a dice based cricket simulation, though there is the excellent program called Surf's IC Helper which allows you to run games and keep statistics on Excel.
I will also play games using John Bowness far less expensive and quicker Three Dice Cricket as a comparison.
I will also play the same games using some hybrid rules I came up with for old 80's dice classic Max Walker's Cricket Game.

The full scorecards the season I am going to simulate can be found here
The Home of CricketArchive

The competition rules state that first innings are automatically closed after 75 overs, with matches lasting 3 days.
Bonus points are awarded for the first innings, in addition to any points gained for the match result.

The first match is between competition lightweights Quetta and Sukkur, at the Racecourse Ground, Quetta.
The pitch for the match is:
108 - Dry and dusty before a ball has been bowled. This pitch may offer the bowlers assistance as early as the 2nd day with the bounce becoming erratic. Winning to toss here must be an advantage because batting will never be easier than on the first day.

Quetta won the toss and elected to bat.

Lineups:
Quetta - Younus Ata, Rashid Raza, Raj Hans, Asif Baloch (c), Suleman Tahir, Talha Ghaznavi, Mansoor Khan (wk), Tahir Kazmi, Habib Baloch, Tariq Baloch, Rashid Ali
Sukkur - Rizwan Yousuf, Arshad Ali, Nasir Khan, Naimatullah, Abdul Nabi, Samiullah Khan (c), Aqeel Ahmed (wk), Amjad Bhatti, Aslam Manghi, Arif Amin, Abid Khan

Quetta v Sukkur, BCCP Patron's Trophy, 3 day match, Racecourse Ground, Quetta, October 2nd, 1983/4 (Using International Cricket, by Lambourne Games)

Pitch: 5A - Dry and Dusty

Weather: 2 - Hot and Sunny

The Quetta openers both survived chances before they had scored, but saw off the new ball bowlers, and with Younus Ata striking the ball well, it seemed a big total was in the offing on a pitch offering little to the bowlers during the early stages.

Amjad Bhatti changed things with his offspin, striking twice in his first 7 balls.

Rashid Raza was first to go for 8, his off stump flattened as a turning ball beat his attempted cut, leaving the score 38/1 off 13.4 overs.

Younus Ata followed in Bhatti's next over, lobbing an easy catch to captain Samiullah at long leg off another ball that turned to be out for 34, the score now 43/2 off 15.1 overs.

Raj Hans took a long while to settle, and never really got going, before gloving a lifter from Abid Khan to be out for an unconvincing 19, leaving the score just before lunch at 82/3 off 30.2 overs.

The score at Lunch read 85/3 off 34 overs, with captain Asif Baloch, and middle order batsman Suleman Tahir not out at the crease.

After Lunch, the spinners steadily worked their way through the innings, while Suleman held firm at one end.

Asif Baloch was out for a handy 31, bowled around his legs sweeping at Abdul Nabi, the score now 106/4 off 39.1 overs.

Talha Ghaznavi survived a couple of chances before becoming Amjad Bhatti's 3rd victim, having his off stump flattened attempting to cut a well flighted delivery for 10, leaving the score 143/5 off 48.3 overs.

Wicket-keeper Mansoor Khan soon followed for a duck, bowled by a turning ball from Abdul Nabi to leave the score a precarious 146/6 off 49.3, with little batting to come.

Tahir Kazmi dug in for a while, and Suleman reached an impressive stroke filled 50 off 61 balls.

Kazmi was eventually bowled through the gate a turning ball to give Abdul Nabi his 3rd wicket, leaving the score 173/7 off 61.4.

Opening bowler Habib Baloch then joined Suleman Tahir in a patient unbroken partnership of 31 to take Quetta to a 2nd batting bonus point, and leave honours fairly even with innings closed after 75 overs on 204/8.

Suleman Tahir remained not out on 81* off 121 balls with 8 fours in 142 minutes of batting.

Frontline spinners Abdul Nabi and Amjad Bhatti took the honours with the ball in a steady bowling display by Sukkur.

Quetta 204/8 closed (75 overs)

(Younus Ata 34, Asif Baloch 31, Suleman Tahir 81*; Abdul Nabi 3-55, Amjad Bhatti 3-55)

Quetta captain Asif Baloch made a useful 31 as Quetta posted 204/8 off 75 overs in their first innings.

The above innings using Three Dice Cricket.

Quetta lost Rashid Raza and Raj Hans for ducks to opening bowler Aslam Manghi, before a hundred by Younus Ata laid a solid platform and allowed the later batsman to attempt a higher run rate in the later overs.

Suleman Tahir contibuted 54 as most of the middle order were among the runs against an undemanding attack.

The eventual total of 257/6 off 75 overs gained Quetta maximum batting bonus points.

Quetta 257/6 (75 overs)

(Younus Ata 100, Asif Baloch 34, Suleman Tahir 54, Talha Ghaznavi 24, Mansoor Khan 26*; Aslam Manghi 2-32, Abdul Nabi 2-67)

Lunch: 72/3 (30)

Tea: 174/4 (60)

Innings Closed: 257/6 (75)
