The first over of the morning. Botham is bounced by Hogg and tries to pull, but is smacked in the face.
Next ball he is bowled by a superb ball for 56, ending a nice innings for Botham. 240/5.
Next Alan Knott is caught in the covers. 241/6. This looks like the start of the collapse of the England innings.
Woolmer was looking good until this Hogg ball from around the wicket rapped him on the pads. Luckily he got a touch. 245/6.
There it is. 262/6. Woolmer couldn't go on and a brilliant catch is taken to remove him. He was just starting to look dangerous as well.
Alderman appeals for LBW. Luckily for Old he got a fine touch on it first. Old has some runs down on the board. 269/7.
Old is removed by a brilliant catch in the covers. 270/8.
Willis hits one straight to short-leg. 276/9.
Alderman takes a good catch off his own bowling to bring an excellent England innings to a close. We still have 20 mins before lunch, so there is still a good chance of a result.
AUSTRALIAN INNINGS 1
It's only the third over and Chris Old has already got a wicket. What a breakthrough for England...7/1.
The position at lunch. England still have a lead of 250 with 9 wickets to get.
Graeme Wood edges to slip. 91/2 and Australia need a solid innings rebuild.
Amazing catch by Tavare at first slip! Right up there with the Andrew Strauss diving catch in 2005! oops, that hasn't meant to have happened yet
99/3 and Australia are in trouble.
The position at tea. Australia have 165 runs to get and England 7 wickets.
Another amazing catch, this time by Alan Knott! First ball after tea, and 111/4 - Australia are in trouble now - England only need 6 wickets!
An LBW appeal, but relief for Australia as the umpire hears a fine touch. 117/4.
Another desperate appeal, but hit outside the line.
Oh dear, Alan Knott has failed to get his hands on that one, which bounced unexpectedly.
England bring on a spinner. On his 2nd ball, Embrurey gets a play and miss (no picture).
An LBW appeal, but it is turned down for reasons unknown to us. It was close though, according to Jonathon Agnew...
That's it for the day. Australia are fighting back after some early wickets, and now England have to work hard as they have to take 6 wickets for 90 runs, although seeing how the Aussies batted earlier, it is very possible.
What an exciting game of cricket this is turning out to be...All three results are still possible, although England seem to be more in control. Australia just need to get their heads down, get some runs and avoid getting out cheaply. England have to repeat their earlier success and establish a first innings lead.
