Australia BEAT South Africa By 6 wkts

Summary :
A 64 ball 59 by Andrew Symonds saw Australia home to win by 6 wickets and a place in the icc trophy final , earlierSouth Africa found it hard to get any partnerships going and it took a late burst from Mark Boucher to give the score some credit ,great bowling by Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath kept the South African`s at bay .
in the reply Mathew Hayden and Adam Gichrist got them of to a flyer with Ricky Ponting coming in to smash 51 ,but the Proteas didn`t have an answer for Symonds as he smashed 9 fours , 4 coming off one over from Langeveldt knocked the stuffing out of the South African morale .

Summary :
An exellent all round team effort from Sri Lanka saw them glide into the final , Chaminda Vaas who has been in awsome form throughout the tournement was the tormentor for England his figures of 5-49 set up a total of 219 for Sri Lanka to chase down .
After a slow nervous start England had them reeling at 28-2 with Harmison removing both openers lbw ,but then the favour changed back into Sri Lankan hands when Jayawardne smashed 85 off 92 balls along with Sanath Jayasuiraya who fisnished unbeaten on 81 not out , England who have struggled with the ball in the tournement had no answer and caved right in , all in all a fantastic win for Sri Lanka who are on a roll having gone through the qualifying group as well ,should be a good final with the the Australian`s

ICC TROPHY FINAL PREVIEW

Australia play Sri Lanka in what should be a cracker of a final ,Sri Lanka are the form side having whitewashed their opponents in the qualifying stages , as for Australia they have had a tough section which included Sri Lanka and a crunch match in the semi`s with the Protea`s.
These are two of the players who are on show in the final .

Sri Lanka - Mahela Jayawardne , has had an amazing tournement , in his 7 matches to date he has hit 576 runs at an average of 82.2 , he also has two 100s to his name , 102 vs Bangladesh and 120 against Pakistan .

Australia - Brett Lee has been superb in the latter stages of the tournement , his 5-48 against Pakistan and 4-48 against South Africa in the Semi-finals have shot Australia into the final ,in all Lee has 15 victims so far .
