This is the second time in as many matches that Kohli gets out after trying to be aggressive with Dhoni struggling to rotate strike. Not a good sign at all.
No rotation of strike has really irked him on both occasions and ended up throwing his wicket which is unlike Kohli.

If fans see it, he must be irked about it too. He should have a word with him and work it through. 10 deliveries left and wee need at least 20-24 runs. 275 will be an okish target to defend.

Need a Dhoni finish here. 252/7 in 48.5 overs. 15-20 off the last over can take us to 270

I know there will be brickbats for Dhoni after another slow knock. But you can hardly blame him either. The middle order seems incredibly brittle with Rahul moving to the opener's spot. And he is not exactly setting the scoreboard on fire with his opening act either. And Shankar-Jadhav are repeatedly getting out to soft dismissals. Pandya is the saving grace really. And without Bhuvi, we have a very long tail

He is being forced to put a price on his ticket. Especially since Kohli is also not able to play through the innings from some reason.

I have myself criticized him a lot over the last couple of years for his batting and lack of strike rotation, but the batting order is on very shaky grounds in this tourney.[DOUBLEPOST=1561642083][/DOUBLEPOST]
So we have got 2 dot balls after that mighty heave :facepalm

Well, he has added another 10 runs in the last 3 deliveries. A lot more than any of our last 3 would have managed. So worth it I guess[DOUBLEPOST=1561642144][/DOUBLEPOST]We are 25-30 below par here. It just needs one of Gayle, Hetmyer, Hope to click and run over this total here. Will have to bowl out of our skins to defend this :(

3 poor deliveries helping Dhoni at the end. Think he is struggling with something[DOUBLEPOST=1561642310][/DOUBLEPOST]I think Shankar needs to make way for someone like Pant or DK. It can help Dhoni to play a little more freely as he wouldn't have to worry more about wickets. Dhoni should be playing at 4

Just wanted to ask a question. What do you think of Rohit's dismissal ? Was it out or not out ?

This is a 270-280 wicket and India might’ve gotten close to enough here. With our bowling and WI inconsistent batting, it’s 50-50 and that’s not bad. Dhoni actually batted well and took India to a par total when this could’ve easily gone bad. He did the same last game too. The controversy got magnified because the person commenting on Dhoni’s slow batting after last game was the man ‘Sachin Tendulkar’. Sachin’s opinion is respected, but I felt it was not entirely justified. Maybe he said it to give a reality check to MSD (these comments travel to dressing room easily)

I’m actually happier that these pitches and these top order failures and shaky middle order, is happening early for us in the tournament. Better get used to this and tweak plans rather than get surprised in knockouts (like CT2017). I wouldn’t again mind a loss here.

I think Shankar needs to be dropped and Dhoni pushed to 4. Due to Dhawan’s loss, No 4 has become tight again. Get Karthik in for the England game and keep him at No. 6. And I think Jadeja needs to play for one of the wristies, to strengthen our lower order. Also get Bhuvi in next game if ready. Birmingham is again not an easy place to score runs, and we need most of the batting reserves there.

I don't really get how people can be so critical of Dhoni. When he scores people say it was poor bowling. When he gets out, he is always the culprit. It is like everytime, each and everytime we want him to smash the ball and if he gets out doing that again we will blame him mercilessly. Poor deliveries or not, he got us to 268. Period. We should seriously give the guy some space and actually appreciate him till he is there. His true value to the team will be known once he goes. I know this might sound like a fanboy post but I really think we are very harsh on him.[DOUBLEPOST=1561643032][/DOUBLEPOST]And yes, Shakar needs to be dropped and never played in this WC again. Please. Get in Pant or Karthik and we have a settled XI.

So, Can India defend this? Windies gonna fight till the last ball. This sunday its gonna be the Subcontinent vs England, How will they handle that :p ? Love seeing these comments on ICC posts "Good Luck India Love from PAK" etc. India's the number#1 ODI team

TBH I really think we need not worry much about our batting as long as we keep winning. Some changes in the batting order and changes in the playing XI can get this resolved. It does really help us if it happens early in the tournament. Consider it as a blessing in disguise

I don't really get how people can be so critical of Dhoni

I rather call it as a worrying factor than being critical. Just want him to play a little more freely. Again as I said the batting order is putting pressure on him

I think Dhoni will bat more positively if he knows there are enough batsmen coming in after him. That’s why him at 4, with Jadhav, Karthik, Pandya and Jadeja to follow, will be a good lineup.

And people can’t always blame Dhoni for Virat getting out. As @Rebel2k19 said, Dhoni is blamed no matter what happens.
