The pitch has slowed down a bit with variable bounce and unlike us, England are playing four genuine pace bowlers. One amongst them is Plunkett who is one of the best in the middle overs with his cutters and seam deliveries. If Pandya could bowl so well, imagine what a player like Plunkett could do.

I would back India to chase something in the range of 320 if we have a couple of good partnerships but 340 and above would be a big ask.[DOUBLEPOST=1561898595][/DOUBLEPOST]

I don’t really see this dysfunctional NZ team defeating England though, let alone the NRR boost you guys would require!

Edit: forgot that Pakistan are actually a point ahead of England right now. :facepalm

Anything can happen England lost to a dysfunctional poor Lankans as well so you never know, Cricket by chance.

I will be more worried about Archer than him. Plunkett was smashed by young Indian batsmen like Samson, Mayank Agarwal, etc in IPL

Plunkett’s the highest wicket taker in the middle overs period over the last four years of ODIs for a reason, I wouldn’t take a season of IPL on Indian pitches in an entirely different format as proof of his abilities even if he’s not the player he once was.

This is a lesson for India. That wicket looked like a belter right from the outset. We have to be broad minded about this and play 5 bowlers on such tracks while sacrificing a wrist spinner for Jadeja. It is not a dig at either spinner, just a tactical change. I have been saying this from day 1.

And he comes in and smashes a six on the very second ball. I ask again, why would you want this player in the shed? Root should have retired hurt long ago to bring him in!

Jadeja on a flat pitch isn’t going to be of much use though. Stokes and Morgan would just destroy him to smithereens. We should have played with three seamers but Bhuvi’s injury meant that it wasn’t possible.

Been weeping about this since the start of the World Cup. Eoin Morgan is a flat track bully against weak bowling attacks.

I would definitely have him at 6 based on current form, with Stokes at 4 as he’s shown that he can build an innings and launch later if needed and Buttler at 5. Of course, I would also send Buttler in at 4 if the situation demands so without any doubt.

360 was on the cards, sluggish batting by Root ruined it all. It was a bad bad inning. Thanks to Stokes and Butler for keeping up with momentum. Still England has managed to put up a great defendable total here.

Buttler vs Bumrah - the battle I wanted to watch and just got a glimpse of it. Two of the very best at the death facing off against each other and both having played for Mumbai Indians would be interesting to watch.[DOUBLEPOST=1561899796][/DOUBLEPOST]

Geez:facepalm:facepalm.

Have been saying this from IPL. Bowl short to Buttler and there he is out on the short ball.

Got no idea why Root walked out at number 3 today, England have pushed Root to the lower order in the past when they’ve had similar explosive starts so it wouldn’t have been an unprecedented move either. England certainly have played a lot more cautiously today after their previous criticisms but they need to trust in their methods on pitches like this, it’s the tougher pitches where they need to adapt.[DOUBLEPOST=1561900258][/DOUBLEPOST]

Buttler smoked the same type of delivery for a six on the very second ball mate. :p
Short balls are most definitely not his weakness.

Although the pitch is flat and one side of the ground is very short but I still feel that England has already achieved a match winning total.

Didn't knew Shami is the fastest to 25 WC wickets. He has 5 more today. Looks like he is built for WCs.

India will win this easily,England can't bowl for shit.If by some miracle we do win I think we'll go through. Can't see Pakistan beating bangladesh.
