England vs Newzeland game will happen before the Friday game against Bangladesh so by Wednesday we will be knowing what are our chances for Semis.

I don't know about Basit Ali stuff and all but showing no intent in the last four overs by two proper batsmen is quite strange. Anyhow, Winning streak is gone and this game will going to haunt India in the upcoming matches, that is a general gut feeling
Yeah, if NZ wins on Wednesday, it's going to be a virtual quarterfinal between Pakistan and Bangladesh

It was quite a boring match in the end. Expected a fighting contest between two favorites of the World Cup, At the end of the day, England beat them comprehensively and convincingly. Well-played England, The better team won today

And today one also cannot defend Dhoni that he should bat #4 . That would've been the worst decision given the scenario . It's not a 250 chase .

LOL ! And this might be the 100th time Rishabh's bat got wings flying .

Yeah yeah India won't ever know to win matches after this defeat. We see how Pakistan makes repeat of 1992 WC and India are virtually knocked out of 2019 WC just like 1992 WC. No wait. I think India lost so that Pakistan gets knocked out of WC ? I don't understand people taking jibes at a team after just one defeat. Okay we made mistakes as a side but what's the point in taking jibes at the entire team as a whole ?

Whatever Jadhav gets from here, this should not save his spot in the XI. He needs to be dropped. Absolutely not used much with the ball and his batting is just there when the situation requires India to grab the bull by the horns. Get Jadeja in.

On a good batting pitch, I'd drop Shami for Bhuvi. I don't care for those 5 wickets that he took today. His massive run leak towards the end cost us probably 15-20 runs. I am not blaming Dhoni for his batting S/R but now that Dhoni is not the captain of the team anymore, the management needs to make sure that Dhoni follows the instructions instead of being a decision maker in his own mind and playing his own game. And if the management was also in sync with the way Dhoni batted towards the final overs today, then India has bigger problems and there is no way that such muddled thinking is going to take them to the WC title.

LOL ! And this might be the 100th time Rishabh's bat got slicked away .

And I think next to be dropped should be Kedar . Neither a good fielder anyway & not having power I must say for being a finisher . Jadeja being out & still winning by thrilling fielding saddens me .

What a guy he was back in the England Tour of India . That 350+ chases .

People will now pin blame on guys like Dhoni & Pant, but Kohli and Sharma needed to either press the button earlier or bat bigger and longer.
Well tbh the pitch slowed down a bit but having said that full credit to the English bowlers they came with a plan and executed it perfectly.

The wobble seam delivery proved vital on this wicket and was difficult to hit through the line they also made sure not to bowl into the arc to protect the short boundaries.

So overall a great win for England and for people who are putting their gut feeling out this is India of newer generations they have handled pressure, criticism,Success,Defeats,Losses etc. quite graciously and moved on and continued to play good cricket for a good period of time unlike some teams which wakes up perform like shit one day and heroes other day.

SHOW INTENT!

I have seen this Dhoni many times before for CSK. I am not surprised at all. I agree that we didn't score in first 10 overs.

He doesn't need to swing from the hills for that. He knows what ball he has to choose. It's not as if Shami would have come and won us the game.

It's convenient of us to blame guys who barely got 5 overs to make an impact and yet not look at the blokes who created the rut.

You make 20 in 10 overs chasing 340, you're going to lose. As simple as that! Sharma ji wants that MOS award badly!

To be honest I watched the whole match and it just didn't seem like India wanted to win match, too many dots and single in the first 10 overs and last 5 overs was just very odd from India.

This is where we lose the game. The use of resources like Shankar and Jadhav is nil in this side because of our approach at the top. We don't need that extra batsman. Play all 3 quicks, 2 wrist spinners and Pandya. If it's a flat flat track, play Jadeja for one wrist spinner.

Yeah and if you have 6 overs with 5 wickets in hand, why the hell would you rotate the strike, why not hit away? Every team does the same in the end if they have wickets.

Yes. We are making sure PAK does not qualify because of our atrocious record against them in WC.

As I said in my previous posts, Dhoni had already made his mind up that they won't be able to chase this target don after Hardik got out. England were bowling very well with those slower cutters at a short length. I feel he just conveyed the message to Jadhav that we will just try to get as close as possible to the target s it doesn't affect out NRR. I have heard about this thinking from MS many times before in IPL. So I am not surprised he chose that approach rather than going for the target.[/QUOTE]
