Agree that it looks unfair. But that's a very rare case and you'll always find such exceptions no matter what.

Coming to today's match, if Pakistan does get to bat first and I'm the captain, my only message to the team would be to go all out. No matter how small the chance, show the world that you do really mean business. A consolation win might be good but even better would be to show intent to do the impossible.

Doesn't matter if you get bundled out for 150 in the process. I'd take that over winning but not qualifying. Try and get to 450. Easier said than done but give it a shot.

0-10 = 100 runs/2 wickets
10-20 = 70 runs/1 wicket
20-30 = 80 runs/1 wicket
30-50 = 200 runs a.k.a. T20 mode

Knowing the Pakistani media, I wouldn’t really go all guns blazing. It’s pretty much impossible to score 400-450, even the flattest pitches during this tournament couldn’t provide a score of 400 with teams like Australia and England playing on them. An embarrassing loss to Bangladesh trying to shoot for the moon would be even more hurtful and result in the media plus general public absolutely ripping them to shreds given the geopolitical history between them.

Sarfaraz is in a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation here. No matter what he says or does, he is bound to be criticized heavily and scapegoated. Personally, I believe Pakistan did quite well considering that they aren’t one of the stronger teams on paper. They were really unfortunate to play versus Windies in their first game. Had they played them on any other day, they would have won and had their game vs Sri Lanka happened that would be another extra point, not to mention the Kiwis being very fortunate to get a point from their encounter with India.

After all we are the number 1 T20 side :p I'd include Asif Ali instead of Hafeez

Looks like Shaun Marsh is out and Handscomb is his replacement, about bloody time that they get a middle order batsman in. Wouldn’t surprise me if they went with a “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” policy and not have him play unless another injury occurs.

Sarfraz is still in denial mood, still defending the worst performance of Hasan Ali and Fakhar Zaman. As a player I still rate him much higher than Rizwan, He has a lot of capability as a batsman but as captain, he has disappointed a lot due to the favoritism he gave to his friends. As captain, we do not have much choice. It has to be very thoughtful after the World Cup. One thing for sure, we have to get rid of Inzy, Mickey Arthur and Azhar Mehmood.
Yes Faheem Ashraf too

If he wins the toss he should choose to bowl to highlight how dumb a situation it is.

That's true. Probably also the reason why bis body language was poor during the press conference. Must have bee thinking about the situation back home.

Yeh right. We didn't play to our potential but let's blame the format and ICC for following the NRR approach.

Barring the SL washout, I don't think Pakistan has anyone else to blame but themselves.

Kohli better sit out the game against Sri Lanka. Who know what incident will happen and make him lose it

Rohit Sharma can captain against SL and Kohli can still play.

Here is funfact for all those aren't even talking about Bangladesh - The last time they played Pakistan in a World Cup was in 1999 and we all know how that panned out.

Also they have 4-0 record against Pakistan in the recent times in ODIs.

If Kohli retired today I'd say he is the best ODI batsman of all time. His record is remarkable. He's had exactly half the number of innings as Tendulkar and is 8 behind in terms of centuries and almost 15 ahead in average.

Steyn's is definitely one the greats.

I agree that Kohli is the greatest ODI batsman ever. Sachin played in a generation where Test Cricket had a lot of importance so I am not really surprised he didn't do well in ODIs. If Kohli goes on to score more than 16000 Test runs and along with that he does do well in Overseas Tests that too consistently then I would rate him next to Bradman. You can call Kohli a better ODI batsman than Tendulkar but overall, Tendulkar remains ahead of him because of what that man has achieved in the longer format. And not to forget for last 10-12 years of Sachin Tendulkar's career he played with just 90% fitness

Imam-ul-Haq has gone eight innings without an ODI hundred. Should he fail to reach three figures at Lord's on Friday, it would be the longest he has ever gone without a century.Imam-ul-Haq has gone eight innings without an ODI hundred. Oh hi Tanvir!! :wave

Question here, even though it's near impossible for Pakistan to go through is it immoral or against "spirit of cricket" if Bangladesh win toss and bat first thus eliminating Pakistan?

Considering they're already out...
