Ha ha would be something if England now lose 60 for 8 or something! Oh the salt I would produce then.....Utah would be nothing!

Are umpires paid to give wickets depending on match situation?...

Like he just gave that for no reason, you could see by his body language he wasn't convinced himself but still gave it out...

This situation is so in Joe Root's zone for him to take England through easily. And Morgan needs to play a captain's knock and England should be home easily. I wont be surprised if they do this in 40-42 overs.

Really bad review by Bairstow as well.....

There was a certain Indian batsman who was a middle-order specialist being asked to open and after his success in the ODI Cricket he opened in Test matches as well and went on to score 2 Triple centuries ! And yes averaged close to 40 and striked at 85+ to add to it teared apart some of the great bowlers in the world.

Roy has serious issues with the swinging ball which is pretty much going to be the standard delivery that he will be facing under English conditions, as an English player. Sehwag on the other hand had no weakness to spin and was quite destructive versus them playing on Asian pitches. Sehwag also had issues with the swinging ball but since he wasn’t going to play every other game under overcast skies and green pitches, it wouldn’t matter in the end (supported by his poor record in England and South Africa where the pitches are most green).

And I still believe that Sehwag was an all-time great who had extremely good hand-eye coordination that I simply don’t see in Roy. Added to that, Sehwag made his test debut when he was 23 and had a year’s experience in the middle order before opening and Warner was 25 when he made his test debut. Roy’s going to be 29 in a few weeks and he still hasn’t made his test debut yet. It is a high risk move that could potentially ruin a talented batsman who has already had confidence issues and was out of the team just over two years ago. Would rather see Burns and someone else get a chance.

I'd rather see Jason Roy given a chance than ever see Keaton Jennings in an England shirt again. If there are no other openers putting themselves in contention it seems like a chance worth taking.

Even though it was a really poor and stupid decision by Dharmasena but still Jason Roy should just walk off and not argue because he could get fined or even banned.

Wouldn’t want to see Jennings either, I’d rather see Vince play some masterful cover drives taking him to a hard earned 20 then edging one behind gloriously as he looks back in horror to see a simple slip catch.

lol Dharmasena what a shit call, he literally caved under the pressure of the appeal, even hesitating to lift his finger.

The umpiring throughout this tournament has been downright pathetic and most unbefitting of the highest pinnacle of sport, I really hope their standards are looked at and more emphasis is put on them taking the right decisions rather than make them on the basis of team reviews left for one.

Australia needs a miracle here if they are to win this. I don't see England throwing it away unless anything out of the ordinary happens.

What a load of utter rubbish. Grow some balls mate. Your team didn't live up to expectation. That happens. They are a good side that couldn't quite fire at the right moment. Try some humility: you could learn a little from your very own captain.

My team very much lived up to expectations. I won't say I'm proud, but very pleased with how India played. I don't think any of the regular posters here ever pretended that we had no weakness or we were some sort of unbeatable force. I think I have posted second most about Pakistan and then England on their games. It's all in this thread to see. The humility comment is just hilarious because I never went about here proclaiming us as some unstoppable force. If you want me to simply state it, I will state it that England deserve to be where they are and have I think in general been the red hot favourite team to win the whole damn thing. In this very thread, I have said that their acceptance of different cultures is worthy of praise and something the other countries should embrace. Pretty happy with how Kohli has represented us as well I guess. Very respectable.

This topic has been devoid of English fans contribution and suddenly today they have risen and accused us of weeping? Just because you have a "button" you can push to ban someone, doesn't mean you can say what you like about me or my country men. You ask me to grow a pair? I say, you grow up first and the pair will take care of itself.[DOUBLEPOST=1562859464][/DOUBLEPOST]

He has a right to be pissed about that. Players should be allowed to express themselves and if he's banned for this in a game as big as the final, then the ICC should just ask players to be replaced with robots.

Dominic Sibley seems to be the stand out opener in county cricket at the moment. Given Paul Fabrace is now at Warwickshire, having recently been part of the England set up, there's a chance he might get a go.

I would rather see Melanie Trump than Keaton Jennings.....Jennings is exactly 7,567,445,321 in line to be England opener, just ahead of me.
Jennings' solid average of 21.5 this season will probably be enough to keep his place. :noway

The big thing that works against Roy is he hasn't played county cricket this year and played two matches last year, batting at 3. So it'd be a risky choice, but I think England are more likely to go with what they know - even if it's based on ODI cricket (look at Buttler and Rashid recalls last year) - than a player in form in the position they need to fill. Look at how long it took for Burns to actually get picked despite averaging 40+ for four seasons.
