Not playing Asif Ali is gonna cost Pakistan, Haris, Imam, Babar, Sarfraz are not straight six players.

And two of them are already out. Babar started aggressively too until the sudden collapse. Surely it's a lot easier to play the aggressive slogger and ask others to play their natural game rather than force everyone to go for it against their instincts?

Tailor made situation for Hafeez to make a half century and secure his place.

Why is there not another game today?

Given how short this game will eventually end up being, I'd like to ask the same question. :p

Do the Pakistanis know that net run rate is quite important in this tournament format and that they must try to bat as long as possible? Atrocious shots all around, and I thought the South Africans were being hasty yesterday!

I just don't understand this obsession with 1992. It's a bit like India's with 1983 before 2011 happened.

Cricket was very unorganised and open at the time. Sport in general is very scientific these days. In this particular league style format, Pakistan will need a huge slice of luck and more to win the cup. What is disappointing is that they perform below what even they are capable of. This is not a world class attack by any stretch of the imagination. The batters just came out thinking '350' and wrecked their chances one after the other. Azam is a class act but what on earth was that shot? Mickey Mouse is asking Haris to bat at 4.. now when Haris had broken out, I felt he had a decent technique and today I noticed he has completely opened his stance. This is not the last 3 overs of a T20. I think he was even more open than Hardik Pandya and that's saying something!

Just poor! I'm just a fan of the Pakistan team and I'm so so frustrated so I can imagine the sentiments of the Pakistanis themselves. For a country so short on batters, how do you manage to have Malik on the bench? And now, having benched him, what does that do to his confidence? A cricketer who would walk into 8/10 teams in this World Cup! Unbelievable!

Respect for you. You literally write essays for a rival team :D

Abhi, you need to understand the format of the CT and of the WC. It is chalk and cheese. I believe this format rewards consistency, a term never associated with the Pakistani team while the CT was more of a sprint race where if you had 2-3 exceptional days, you could win the darn thing.[DOUBLEPOST=1559303764][/DOUBLEPOST]

I have never looked at Pakistan as a 'rival' team. Unless obviously, it's India vs Pakistan. Huge fan of Wasim Akram and Imran Khan. Imran Khan for his looks as well. I often pray that if I'm reincarnated, it's as him. Personality unparalleled. :D

Windies are the team to look out for in this tournament, on their day they can beat any team/chase any total. They've a good bunch of t20 stars in their team, on these flat pitches it'd be difficult to restrict them plus they got pretty good fielders. Their bowling may or may not click.

Looking forward to our first match against SA on 5th, backing India all the way!

Cause he likes cricket
Well, I slept and woke up to Gayle smashing Hassan Ali :p. Misbah said that Babar Azam is the glue that holds the batting together. And then we have a Taptan (captain) who can barely hit sixes (1 six in last 19 games) including this one.

That was just a tongue in cheek response.. World cup is a whole other beast. You can't have one or two good days and win it

First two games, the pacers have managed to extract a lot of bounce from the surface. Indian team needs to be wary. We are equally susceptible to being bounced out - not in the fashion that Pakistan capitulated but we can definitely end up under achieving big time like south Africa did

293 wicketless balls for Amir in the first 10 overs of ODIs, and then two wickets in 7 balls now. First time he got two wickets in an ODI after CT17.

Wanted to post this earlier but forgot
2011wc= India hosted final n won
2015wc= Australia hosted final n won
2019wc= England will host final n win
