Cannot believe I`m seeing so many empty seats in the stadium for an India WC game. Even the MCG was sold out in 2015! The Bangladesh game at the Oval is a full house.

The reason is lack of competitiveness shown by the South African team in last couple of matches. And the performance that Bangladesh had shown in their last match along with that Kiwis performance in the warm-ups and their first game is taken into consideration

Edit- Also the Stadium is situated far outside the city

Wow Morris getting that confidence from his batting into the bowling now. He has bowled superbly so far and looks a serious threat. Hopefully these two take us deep now and bat sensibly. The RRR is within the reach and shouldn't be a problem if we bat with responsibility.

After 30 overs when both the balls get old, even if India is 3 down for 130, it's gonna be an easy chase.

100 off 20 overs is still a tough ask on this surface though[DOUBLEPOST=1559748196][/DOUBLEPOST]
Sharma Ji has reached 50. After a gazillion attempts not to.

Still struggling against quality pace so far[DOUBLEPOST=1559748255][/DOUBLEPOST]

More to do so with the bounce of the pitch. On this surfaces Morris becomes a different bowler altogether.

The reason for empty seats according to the commentators is that there was some construction going on outside the stadium. That created a lot of traffic and made people come in late. A lot of people it seems seeing how Africa playing returned as they were still waiting outside. If this is true then similar to the Pakistan vs West Indies encounter that created some kind of chaos and people waited outside the stadium for some reason... the ICC had to refund the money as well... this would be poor management on behalf of English Cricket Board.

The entire World Cup so far, has failed to register as a spectacle for me. There’s not been much hype created in England either, if their papers are to be believed. Really disappointed with how the ECB has done the entire thing up until now, given their controversial role in reducing the number of teams already.[DOUBLEPOST=1559749433][/DOUBLEPOST]

Wondering if his more consistent twin has replaced him for today. He looks a completely different player to the one that appeared for the South Africans a year ago!

I don't get all this hate for the World Cup and the format. I'm really enjoying it. And I absolutely love the format! I can't care less about India even playing a Netherlands or Bermuda. Cricket is not Football where there are a lot of equally established nations.

My only issue is the broadcast commentators.

Scoring rate is really starting to speed up now. Can India finish this in 45 overs? Would be great if they can do that.

Great stuff from Rohit Sharma! Though he might have had a few chances today, he has batted superbly (based on the commentary that I'm following on Cricinfo).

Edit: Oh come on! My jinx form is so frustrating! Damn it!

Oh my !!! :facepalm What has Rahul done over here !!!! Maybe he gave a chance for the South Africans to comeback in this game. But a good slower ball from Rabada. :clap

5 an over in last 20 overs with 7 wickets in hand...not at all difficult. Old ball game is a different game all together on this pitch. We need Dhoni to stay here because of the stupidity shown by Rahul (the idiot needed to just play out this over ....he has now exposed Dhoni to the best bowler from.SA today

Bangladesh has really lost the plot here I feel. 250 on a 300 + wicket is going to be tough to defend.

Don't think that was stupidity. He was clearly decepted by that slower delivery. It was more of bowler's brilliance over here[DOUBLEPOST=1559750657][/DOUBLEPOST]Hahahaha.... What's going on with Rohit and Dhoni ? :lol

I am enjoying this :D

What? People have shown hate towards this format? I love it! A team plays every other once and that is what will make the tournament more competitive and will ensure the deserving teams get through to the semis.
