What I truly love about this format is that there are NO easy games.. There might be a banana peel or two for sides like Australia, England & India but there's a drama attached to that as well.

Are`nt we thinking of NRR yet?

This is so apt

Ok looks like we have got this covered now so I am back. Sharmaji finishing games for India? Anyhow, that is some inning by Rohit. He did get a chance at the start but has played well according to the situation which is good to see.

P.S. It wasn't a straightforward chase. I feel that the intensity of this South African team was lacking today and that was one of the main reasons why India are cruising so far. Their fielding was again very ordinary today. It's been a horror WC for them so far.

How the fearsome tweak did Miller drop that?

You posting almost got SaF a wicket :lol:p

Also I am more worried for SaF for the next WC. No talent whatsoever coming up nor staying in due to the pathetic policies. Something major needs to happen or else we will use

Why are India dragging this game out so much? Is it some fixing "keep run rate at 4" :D

Oh yes, dont you know the entire WC is "fixed" and Ireland will lift the trophy coming in late as a replacement for injured Afghanistan and blowing everyone over? :D:rolleyes.

Well that a little unnecessary from Dhoni but he scored 34 and I am pleased with that. An in form MS in that middle order now with KL Rahul makes India's middle order looks seriously good.

I am very happy with the squad. Raydu got his chances and did not grab them with both hands. Shanker has surpassed many's expectation and deserves to be in the squad. What good the squad does now is that if say Shankar does not perform well at number 4, KL Rahul can step in. We already have Hardik who will be in the XI no matter the condition.

My XI would be as follow

  1. Rohit Sharma
  2. Shikhar Dhawan
  3. Virat Kohli
  4. Vijay Shankar/KL Rahul
  5. M.S Dhoni
  6. Dinesh Kartik
  7. Hardik Pandya
  8. Chahal/Yadav/Jadeja
  9. Chahal/Yadav/Jadeja
  10. Mohammad Shami/
  11. Jasprit Bumrah

I just hope the team does not get into a tangle by trying to fit in Rahul along with Dhawan/Rohit. If Dhawan and Rohit are available to play, Rahul should sit out. No other option pursued. I don't think Rahul is the No. 4 and neither should Kohli move down to No. 4 to accomodate Rahul.

@SaiSrini remember this post? I had a feeling KL Rahul will be our #4. Rahul is a way better option when compared to Shankar.

What a wonderful start this from India. A solid innings from Rohit and everyone contributing in their own way except Dhawan. I feel bad for South Africa and will be rooting for them in the remaining matches. I really want them to win, there are some really good individuals.

Now I can finally work... next up is Australia who look more threatening with Warner and Smith in side.

Mushfiqur Rahim what have you done? What have you done?[DOUBLEPOST=1559755852][/DOUBLEPOST]Ross Taylor and Mushfiqur Rahim have some ants in their pants at the moment! What in the world is going on?

I think this was a great game for us. A tough start with plenty to fix and improve on way to a gradual peak. Instead of starting off at the peak and then fizzing out by the end.

There is a lot of scope for improvement in all 3 departments.

Hoping for an equally tough win against Australia as well

Btw, how sweetly was Pandya striking the ball on a wicket where all other batsmen were struggling throughout
