I have a feeling Sehwag will fail. He didn't have a good knock after 2nd ODI against Pakistan against competitive nations. Also Afridi is a risk. But if things work well it's a pleasure to watch him. For me the most stable opener is Gayle. He is also a great bowler. I hope he will play at least one match. Sangakkara is good in the middle order; not as opener.

Another news: Ponting's bat could be banned.

'Strengthen the back of the cricket bat'

Part of a quote from the above link from ZZ.

Surely then if he edged one it wouldn't carry as far, as the bat is stronger.

Carbon is a very strong material btw.

I actually think Daniel Vettori could be made Supersub. Afridi, Sehwag, and Murali all can bowl spin. Afridi may well be opening the batting or he will be needed down the order.

Nothing wrong with Ponting bat IMO. Its not like he has been setting the world on fire with it.

I think Vettori will be the supersub also, he can bowl and bat so he will be brought in most definatly for either innings. Looking at the list of twelve theres pleanty of bowling options and its a damn long batting line up so there isn't a problem with including two spinners.

This has absolutely nuthing to do with super series, but on the topic of gillespie!

I was watching a pro-am golf tourny on tv, and strauss was playing in it. He was tlking to some kids about cricket and they asked about who was the easiest bowler.
And you just heard strauss mutter...

"yea, gillespie, he was rubbish, definately the easiest to face"

Lol, I just found it quite funny, I hope gillespie wasnt watching!

Well he sure wasn't going to say Warne *snicker*

I just thought that perhaps since Gillespie has played against all of them before and most likly gotten them all out before, he could do it again and know their weaknesses. Doesn't matter though the new guy isn't being debuted yet anyway.

Quick comment on Punter's bat - I don't see the problem. If other makes are claiming its unfair, why don't they follow kookaburra's lead and start doing it themselves??? If it was unfair why (as aussie1st states) isn't he setting the world on fire with it????

If somebody has matches there in Australia, run the stadium and use it on Symonds. Because I want to see him on fire.

So far he is really slow.

If Muralis not chucking that ball I'm a purple afro wearing monkey.
You look odd then...
Murali is double jointed, and the rules have been changed for him.

Thats what I've been saying for years, the rules should not be changed for one player. He is a chucker.

Why is the ground less than half full?
I thought it would have been a full house.
Have Aussies fallen out of love with there team or do they see it as a worthless series?

Well bowled Dan Vettori.
Lets not revisit the Murali is a chucker debate - it tends to take over the whole thread - suffice to say that his action has been cleared by the ICC.
