ICC Under-19 World Cup 2012

No , i think they fought till last and as much as they can . :)

The top batting order should have clicked right now..but we gave away too many early wickets. And looks like the left-handers didn't even do anything.

Interesting contrast between the way the English batsmen handle Savage and the Australians. I wouldn't say it's been classier, but a little more effective so far.

But Patterson cops one in the face for his troubles. It's not over yet.

Dropped catches piling up now.

Well that was a decent game, a bit old fashioned. Even saw a hook shot. Bosisto now averages 189 for the tournament.

Subreya (or whatever his name is) looks like a handy off spinner for the Saffers. Could well see him playing for the full team down the line.

Is there a need for the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th & 13th place play-offs for this tournament ? I feel its a sheer waste of resource, time and energy. You have been knocked out of the World Cup. That ends it. It ain't as if the next seedings or groupings are gonna be based on the play-offs, is it ? :noway

I thought the next seedings and groupings were based on the play-offs? I'd also suggest that since an U19 world cup is as much about development as it is winning, that another game or two is good for the players.

TBH, we do have a lot of U-19 tours of late. For example, we did have a quadrangular recently. Also the Asian Council has instituted the Asia Cup as well. No saying that they don't need it- was simply wondering if the groupings emanate from the previous cup.

They do. Where they finish now designates seeding for the next tournament.

Unmukt(how the hell do you pronounce it?) Chand going along nicely, Prashant Chopra, not so much. No wickets though, which is a change for the better as far as our batting is concerned.

Will we score 200+? 210-220 would be ideal for us here (considering these U-19 boys play slower, expecting 230-240 from them would be unreralistic).

India nears the 200 run mark. Hope they can get to 215 or so. Should be a pretty competitive total for the NZ U-19 boys. Hope India win this!

Its got all the makings of an exciting chase here. Can't help thinking that we have the upper hand at this stage with the Kiwis requiring almost 70 odd runs in 9 overs with half their side back in the pavillion, add to that a very difficult track too.

So India in the U19 world cup finals and its going to be tough facing the home team Australia. Well played India and we need 230ish to defend in the finals as Australia are a strong unit
