This is just the trailer for Rohit Sharma can imagine him in a similar situation in what is to come a Five Tests vs England.
But I think he has done a decent job in this match. In both innings he tried to wear down the new ball and tried to stay on the crease for as long as possible. Also, he looked pretty comfortable out in the middle. I believe yesterday he got out to a decision that was quite difficult to be given out unless you are Michael Gough. If Rohit is to follow this approach in the England series, the big runs are sure to come in one of those innings.

Agree, even though he didn't score the occupation of the crease is commendable. Honestly, I didn't think he would last 150+ deliveries.

Speaking of Rohit Sharma, some fun stuff from Shane Bond

Agreed. I think that statement from Boult actually charged him up a little. I would not often say this but I have to agree that Kohli giving him a chance to open have done him wonders. Now the change you see in his batting is not because he is opening but because he saw this as the last opportunity to make a mark at the Test level. Kohli and the management trusted him so here he is making a useful impact in the Final.

Not to forget Gill here, even he did extraordinarily well to support Rohit in that initial burst spell in Overcast skies where the ball was doing a bit.

The three main English openers over the last five years have all lasted for around 80-96 deliveries per test innings. Rohit Sharma’s lasted around 75 deliveries in this game. Not exactly great but given how this game has gone by with regards to conditions has he really done bad? The only reason why he gets stick is because he doesn’t seem to put in the effort to guard his wicket but he has done an adequate job today. Could be better but I’ll wait for some more tests in England before deciding on it.

Imagine taking a catch of Virat Kohli in your final match :')

Glad to see that his performance against Pakistan wasn’t a case of us elevating an average player (see : Crawley, Zak)
Can see another match winner fifer gainst India coming up might be his 4th or 5th against India overall since his Debut aginst us in 2020.

Good so far in NZ-Conditions, With his height can be asset around the Globe as well including those Pitches in Sub-continent.

So let's go back, open Visual Studio and continue the work... :facepalm
