Ideas for Ashes Cricket 2010

Yes but all of them are totally irrelevant. I'll revise what I said a wee bit after reading back over it.
Less than 20% of console users have ever played online and only 3% play regularly.

So the farmer made the mistak, lol. "A wee bit", your percentage has changed from 3% to 20%.

They are relevant numbers because they come from a research company not Codemasters, they dont have the source for those stats. The might have the numbers for PC registations for online play but the majority of the sales are from consoles users, where do the get their stats. from?

Here are some more stats for you.
98% of sales are console so you're right there. As I said though only 3% play regularly so you are still totally wrong when you posit 89/90%
I like the way you've conveniently ignored that when jumping on my 20% figure (which is a fairly irrelevant figure imo as it only counts signed in once).

What constitutes 'regularly'? Just interested to know the cut off point.

Good question. No idea I'm afraid.
I'm trying to see if I can give more info and quote sources but nothing atm.

The reason why only 3% maybe play online regularly now is because of more than 90% quit rate online. It is not because people do not play online. Most of us are waiting a patch to fix the online problem.

The main attraction for the game is online for me, no matter how smart the computer AI there is nothing like playing it online against a decent oppononent.

Good idea M.B, back to the bowling, I posted a while back about just having a dot for the bowling marker( maybe white for one dayers and red for longer formats) or possibly a small crosshair, and this to represent where you ideally want the ball to land but factors such as bowler accuracy, tiredness, breeze and swing would effect where the ball would actually pitch

Whether it shows a dot or a large circle doesn't actually make any difference. The good thing about the circle is that you can see who is a more or less accurate bowler, which is a good idea.

I would like to see two stick approach for special deliveries like out swinger, in swinger, cutters, doosras etc. Similar to when a boxer is knocked down on the floor in Fight Night franchise and trying to get up the floor. This will make the bowling a bit harder and realistic. If you don't get the two circles aligned up then it will be either normal delivery or off the mark meaning easy runs for the batsman. This will also prevent the players from moving the cursor crazy because they are trying to bowl special skills balls.

This is how it will work (Assuming all controls are on Xbox 360):

Normal ball:

Step 1. Press X to start run up. Only one bowling cursor/circle appears.

Step 2: press X again to finish.

To ball let's say outswinger for a fast bowler:

Step 1: Press X, Two circles/cursor appear around the ideal length for an outswinger

Step 2: Player has to align up those two circles quickly before he reaches the bowling crease otherwise it is a no ball or wide ball. Once the circles are aligned up he presses the X again to finish the delivery.

As the bowler gets his confidence up by bowling normal A type deliveries the circles are easy to align up. But these circles are harder to align up to begin with. More confidence and higher skills bowlers means easier to align circles.

Of course it would make a difference, with the circle you know exactly whereabouts the ball is going to land, as opposed to my idea which you would only know where the bowler had initially aimed it but you would then have to account for deviation. As for seeing who is more or less accurate, surely that is fine if playing on easy, but not on hard. The bowling circle as it is currently is an eyesore and should be scrapped for future releases, it even shows you what kind of ball is being bowled, no wonder the batting is so easy
