I would like to see Badrinath come in to the team before Parthiv. Look at it this way, if we picked Patel, we would be playing 3 regular wicket-keepers in our XI!

The fact that someone can wicket keep does not take away from their batting ability and does not necessarily mean they will be a useless fielder. I say this, but I still would rather Badrinath in before Patel simply because he has done everything possible to deserve a cap with a brilliant First Class average over a long period (50 games) and great performances with the bat for India A.

Parthiv Patel is going to find it very difficult to get a look in especially with Karthik looking good at the openers spot and the selectors sticking with Jaffer. In fact, he would have to leapfrog past Gambhir who has been waiting in the wings as well.
Badrinath, on the other hand, could well be eased into the squad by the tour of Australia, in case one of our big 3 stop playing either due to injury or form. It's really a shame that the squad is packed. Even in the middle order we have Yuvraj waiting to snap up the next place.
