I doubt rogers will get a game - i don't think he's been playing much lately and he hasn't been playing that well. But having said that, form isn't exactly required when you're going to be facing a grade cricket type fast bowling attack that the indians have. Hodge will come in for Hayden and Huss will open.

Hes in great Pura Cup form - a few good fifties and a hundred recently.

True, but they may decide to go in another direction and give someone else a go. However, I think that Katich would add some stability to a team that is too full of aggressive batsmen in Symonds and Gilchrist. Dave Hussey could be risky, he has a tendency to overattack at times.

A better move would be to put Katich, the best batsman in the domestic tournament of Australia (Pura cup?) according to cricinfo. Meh i would rather see Mathew Elliot get a call up considering his experience. But is he even in any consideration?
I can't see Elliott being a consideration, apart from being too old to consider a future replacement, he is not really in form and he never really gelled with the team anyway. He is fast becoming a one-day specialist, his first class average only a run from dipping below his (huge) one-day average.

I think Brad Haddin should open the innings with Phil Jacques. I do not know if Haddin opens the batting in domestic competitions or first class matches but, I have seen him play and he looks a very solid batsman.

My line up for Perth Test :

Haddin/Rogers ( If Hayden Doesn't Play)
Jaques
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke
Symonds
Gillchrist
Hogg
Lee
Clark
Tait

Is there is any chance for Sreesanth in the perth test:help

jaffer scoring runs here will seal his place for the 3rd test but i dont think he ll score any runs thr,he a good player of mediocre bowling but against quality attacks he is found wanting.
Even against grade cricketers, Jaffer couldn't get 100.

Absolutely. Harbhajan can be picked just for his wood on Ponting. Let Ponting score big and the other players will feed off his scoring, and will make it big themselves. And Ponting can deflate your confidence with his fast scoring ways. He will not look that aggressive, but he scores very fast.
So what if the plan backfires and Harbhajan doesn't get Ponting out (and goes wicketless) and Ponting goes onto make a big 100 anyway?

I have heard on commentary in current warm up match that Australia have name unchange 12 players for Perth. Therefore final position is fight between tait and Hogg.

Considering Rogers made 123, 87, 51 and 6 in his last 4 innings, as well as the next test is in Perth and was in contention of replacing Langer in the test side againts Sri Lanka might just get him picked instead of the older Katich.

Yuvraj Singh out of next match. Came and gone in 60 seconds in tour match.

Not to mention India hate Katich.

.... maybe in Australia. He's got two double-centuries and both abroad, don't forget. He also got a 92 against the ACT XI.

Going by the stats, looks like Dravid looked like he was in the groove much more. Virender Sehwag also looked far too cautious. Sehwag needs to play his natural game if he is to be picked.
