As I have mentioned elsewhere, BCCI is being very greedy here and are obviously turned off by just seeing the dip in the revenue that they get. What they are not seeing is that they are still getting a huge chunk of the share, its just that the percentage is lesser than what the Big Three setup. And the Big Three setup was obviously a bad sign for cricket in general and this new administration at ICC (led by Shashank Manohar) is trying to reverse the bad effects that the Big Three model brought with it.
But I dont agree with certain comments saying "Kick out BCCI, we can live without India". I challenge, I seriously challenge the ICC to live a year without BCCI being a part of it. ICC will collapse like nine pins and most likely BCCI will form its own independent "international cricket council" and will pull the other boards towards it. BCCI is not dependent on ICC, but the ICC is heavily dependent on BCCI. That's the reason the BCCI is flexing its powers so much till now.
Lets hope the BCCI get some sense into their heads and go with what the ICC offers. Shashank Manohar has hit the right nerve. Its painful right now at the moment, but if it works, he would have done great service to world cricket. To me, it's sad he couldn't continue long as BCCI chief. But he is in the right place now.
