The tension is building up inside the MA Chidambaram stadium. India started off Day 5 in a sedate manner scoring 14 runs off 5 overs. Then, VVS Laxman who probably didnt see the field spreading went for the first slog shot of the Indian innings and nicked one to the keeper Akmal and was out for 67. India now are 268/6, needing another 53 runs to win. It's down to the lower order with Dhoni and Pathan needed by the Indian camp to take India through this test match. Pakistan on the other hand still operating with Sami and Razzaq but have got the all important wicket of Laxman!

I still think its possible! Meanwhile, India need 21 runs to win. But they have two more wickets only in hand. Kumble has been bowled by Shoaib Malik. It was a huge huge turn for Shoaib Malik and Kumble thinking the ball would miss off stump, left it but was shocked to see the ball clip the edge of the off stump!

Pakistan win a thriller by 5 runs!!

MAN, THIS IS AWFUL!! I WAS HOPING I WOULD WIN AND TAKE INDIA 2-0 TO KOLKATTA!! BUT IT HAS NOT HAPPENED!! WHERE DID I GO WRONG TODAY?? I JUST CANT BELIEVE THIS!!! I TEND TO GET TOO PRESSURISED WHEN IT GETS CLOSE!!!

Pakistan have won the most thrilling match ever seen in recent times by a measly 5 runs. India fought on till the last wicket fell of theirs. Obviously, when 10 runs were needed to win, India would have hoped of various repeats of their previous famous victories. But all their hopes were crushed at the last moment. No one knew who would win until the last wicket fell!! Zaheer Khan tried to play down the ball to leg side but missed it to be LBW and India were all out for 315. Co-incidence here is that Pakistan too scored 315 runs in their 2nd innings and it is their lead in the first innings which has won them this match! (The commentator said that "India have managed to hold on to a draw" when Pakistan won it. Have you ever seen a more buggy game than C2004??)
