If you guys dont know who Tutsi is, better know him soon! His patch is working like a dream for me. I started playing with it on my Desktop and loved it. Then since my laptop provided me portability, I switched playing with it on my laptop and did not yield good results. Now I am back to my Desktop and it again works like a dream! His Beta-4 patch is the best one for test matches but the thing is, it works differently on different systems.
I dont quite get how the patch should work differently on just switching computers. Did you have different patches installed on your desktop and laptop previously? If so maybe the patch works differently on a fresh gob file and has different results if it has been installed on a previously changed gob... Did Tutsi say anything about this in his thread?
Good match by the way.

I am not sure if Tutsi has mentioned but I have heard many times in this forum of the game working differently on different PC's. when patches release and reviews come in, some say that they get edges while some say they dont (on the same type of wicket, weather and teams!). It is a fact that this game works differently on different pc's. I noticed it more today. On my laptop with the patch (Tutsi beta-4), there were a lot of advance down the wicket shots off the spinners by the CPU. But once I switched it to my Desktop, there seems to be not many of those shots and some of those shots also connected always!

Pakistan in the driver's seat (Lunch: Day 4)

Pakistan look to be in the driver's seat on Day 4 at Lunch. They have batted themselves into a winning position and have scored 307/7, thereby extending their lead to 312. Yousuf Youhana has hit a magnificent 161 before being stumped by Dhoni off Harbhajan. Razzaq scored 25 before he was caught at long of off Harbhajan who has picked up 4 wickets in this innings so far. But Pakistan has scored 112 runs in the session with a daring batting display. India just could not stop the Pakistani pair of Youhana and Razzaq who went about scoring freely off them. Youhana in particular was severe this morning. Ganguly tried a lot of options including bowling himself for 3 - 4 overs but could not make an impact.

Youhana's hundred

Youhana's wicket

Shahid Afridi and Danish Kaneria remain at the wicket hoping to extend the lead even more. The chances of Pakistan declaring doesnt look possible. They will look to get as many more runs as possible and set India as stiff a target as possible. And if they eat up more overs, then the chances of them losing the match would greatly decrease! A very challenging task ahead of India if they have to win this series at Chennai itself instead of taking it down to Kolkatta and adding to the pressure!

Rameez: So Shaz, who do you say would win this test match?
Shastri: Considering India's batting power, anything looks possible. But currently, I would say PAKISTAN!!

Pakistan 307/7 | Youhana 161 | Inzamam 46 | Younis Khan 35 | Harbhajan Singh 4/95

yoyo did awesome. Now maybe Afridi could have strike and danish just could defend..

Afridi has already started to open up. the thing with this patch is, at the beginning they defend very tight and if you can see them score some runs off the bat, then you can very well guess they are opening up. Greatest patch that i've played with!!

Ok guyz, any guesses on who will win this test?? Chennai might declare a holiday tomorrow for people to watch this thrilling match (I lived in Chennai and this has happened before whenever a match is keenly contested)!!

i think it will end in a tie or india will win :D

Tie?? Do you really think so? Man, are you going back to the tied test match at Chennai between India and Australia in 1986-87 to base your guess on??

From the looks of it, I think Pakistan will win unless they lose their last few wickets real quick. This performance makes me wonder about my decision to declare after a 100 run lead against WI, maybe the CPU is programmed to bat more aggressively in the second inning.

You are right, this is the best patch ever. Kudos to tutsi!!

I dont think it is programmed exclusively for the second innings. The CPU is unpredictable. I played a match between India and Australia in Australia. The CPU scored really big in the first innings but I got them all out for less than 200 in the second. And it was a Normal pitch good for batting. So, its unpredictable and that should make it interesting for you. Keep bowling well and good luck.

Finally... Pakistan bowled out for 315!!

Finally, India bowl out Pakistan in their second innings for 315. Pakistan who resumed their batting at 307/7 collapsed within the next 8 runs. Irfan Pathan was the chief destroyer in the second session with 2 wickets of the three that fell! First to go was Danish Kaneria who was bowled off a straight delivery from Pathan. Then Afridi was bowled by a leg cutter from Pathan who has picked 3 wickets in the innings so far. Then Sami and Ul Hasan frustrated for a few minutes before Kumble got the last wicket courtesy some shoddy umpiring from Simon Taufel who gave Ul Hasan out to a delivery which was not going to hit the stumps. Pakistan were all out for 315

Pakistan's middle order can be really happy with their performance this match. But their top order needs a serious look in to their performance. But Inzamam, Youhana, Razzaq and Yasir Hameed (in the 2nd innings) built a good score and now stand in with a chance of winning this game. After the thrashing in Mumbai, this is top notch performance from Pakistan.

Pakistan have set India a target of 321 to win and take the series 2-0. Its not going to be an easy task for India with the wicket favoring the spinners a lot. Pakistan must make sure they bowl the spinners a lot on this pitch as India showed in the first innings that they get bogged down by the turn in this pitch.

India need 321 to win | Pakistan 315 a/o (2nd innings) | Youhana 161 | Inzamam 46 | Harbhajan 4/71

Wow. That last innings seems to model a "normal distribution" curve. I think its called that - been a long time since my school days :)

My money is on Pakistan, with India needing a large total on a turning pitch.

I think I need to move to Chennai so I can get the day off to watch this one :D Looks like a fantastic last day in prospect.

I think India can pull it off. Play the ball after the spin and only if it is coming on to the stumps. Don't wanna lose wickets now, would we?

i hope it does not rain on the last day ruining a gr8 match in prospect (as it did in the match vs AUS)
