Broadcasting Rights for Windies Tour

Today the bid for Broadcasting Rights for upcoming India vs. West Indies series was held. All the channels like ESPN STAR SPORTS , NEO SPORTS etc tried hard to win but TEN SPORTS left all its competator behind and got the Television Rights.
Ten Sports Officials promised to entertain their viewers as much as they can.

The Viewers will enjoy the match with the commentary of Ravi Shastri and Ramiz Raza. The viewers will also enjoy the pre and post match show named STRAIGHT DRIVE which will be joined by Ian Botham, Dean Jones, Sanjay Manjerekar and many more. Plus they will contest where people will use their Cricketing Brain To earn loads of Prizes. Hence this series will be full of Fun and Entertainment for the viewers.

After a long meeting with the selector , the selectors have finally decided the 14 men squad which will be touring to Carribean for the 4 test match series. The team consist of four bowlers and 9 batsman including one all rounder.Kumble has been retained as captain. Dhoni will be his deputy. Parthiv Patel is in the squad as a second wicket keeper. Pathan is back to the squad after having some good matches for India A. Sachin Tendulkar will be missing the whole tour because of Tennis Elbow injury whereas Ganguly had already taken retirement. Shubhramanium Badrinath , who had shown some classy batting and great leadership in domestic cricket is also included in the squad. He is the only new face in the indian team. The team for the Odi series will be announced after the third test so that we can have a look at the player performance before selecting the squad. Thanks. Regard from BCCI.

P.R. - So Kumble, what's your expectation with the team during upcoming tour of Carribean ?

A.K. - The team is balanced. However we will miss Sachin. The boys are mentally and Physically fit enough to handle any situation. We have slso toured Windies a year ago, before the world cup , and we will use our gained experienced during last time. And with Garry (Garry Kirsten), we will perform better.

P.R. - Badrinath is a newcomer to the team. Do you think he is capable enough to start his Test Career ?

A.K. - Yes, Why Not. He has been showing brilliant batting and a great leadership in Domestic Cricket. I think he should be picked earlier. The more he was ignored, the better he played. He had played with me in Domestic Cricket and i was quite impressed with him. He is a man of born talent.

P.R. - In media, there is news that you are going to take retairment, is that true ? There is also questions arrising about your fitness and captaincy ?

A.K. - Ha Ha , I myself know what my body is capable of, I have lot of cricket to play. I will continue to play till i am mentally and physically fit and my team need me. As soon as i will feel the same i will take no time for it. And as per as my fitness, i am doing my best to be 100% fit. The selectors are wise, so i will keep captaining till they have faith on me.

India had already announced its squad had leave for Windies today. They will play a practice match against West Indies A which will the start of Series.

Today The West Indies Cricket Board announces its Squad for Upcoming Home Series against India. Ramnaresh Sarwan has been given the Captaincy for West Indies. Also W.I.C.B. announces Digicel as the Sponsor of the whole series.

Hello and welcome to the SportsNight. We are here are to discuss the latest Cricket News and Actions. So now the wait is over and the India Vs. WestIndies series is going to start tommorow when India will play WestIndies A in a 4day warmup game.
Earlier Morning , Indian Team Reaches WestIndies. After reaching, Indian team started their practice just after two hours which shows that India are not taking WestIndies A lightly. The Players were looking tired.

But we got S. Badrinath, who will be playing his Debut series to talk with us. He is on line. Lets go and ask him some questions.

Q. - So Badrinath, how's your feeling there ?

S.B. - I am very well till now but little excited to Be in Windies. We have got warm welcome here and we are feeling that we are feeling that we are in India. As far as i am concerned, i always had the dream to play in West Indies for my Team. I have got encouraging comments from seniors. So it's better till now.

Q. - Are you nervous to be the only new face in the team ?

S.B. - No, i am not. It's always a dream for a player to represent his National Team in International Cricket. Seniors like Dhoni, Dravid etc are giving me full support so i am not feeling a bit nervous.

S.M. - Hello and welcome to Straight Drive. So the wait is over and India's carribian tour is on the way. We are here for the Practice match between India and West Indies A. Indian team are looking very confident after their win against Australia and England whereas West Indies are struggling after a clean sweep by Pakistan. For more talking we have Waqar Younis, Ian Botham and Geofreyy Boycott with us. Whom you are going to favour Waqar for this match ?

W.Y.- Well no doubt i will go with India. They have shown some great in recent times. Bowlers especially Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma are at their top form whereas West Indies are struggling with their form. But no one can say what will happens in Cricket. West Indies A have some good bowlers like Taylor and Breese who are performing well. Ganga is also in good touch and he can create problem for India.

I.B.- I think it's India. Last Time when India toured West Indies , they were badly defeated by West Indies in ODI's but they recovered and Win the test Series. But India's current performance make them the best at the moment.

G.B.- India is my favourate team at the moment. Laxman, Gambhir, Sehwag are in brilliant form. I would not be surprised if Sehwag scores a triple ton. Tendulkar absence will be a relief for Windies bowler but his replacement, S. Badrinath will be a player to watch.


S.M. -So all feels india wil have upper hand in this match. We are taking a short Break and will be back for the Pitch Report and Toss by Barry Richards.
