Pardon my ignorance but does Ravi Shastri posses any coaching experience, either in IPL or with some domestic team? Because I only know him as a post retirement commentator.

He's an idiot who will jump off a terrace if Kohli asked him to! 2 crores a year for doing nothing but traveling the world and basking in the glory if the team does well to boot! If it doesn't he can always say he just got the job and the preps are for future tours..

Personally, a coach can do a lot if he can influence the emergence of youth but a mosquito like Shastri will do sh!t!

A veteran like Kumble deserved more time and a longer run with the team. The CT final also proved how a great batsman isn't necessarily a great captain. Dhoni's captaincy and his calm attitude in crunch/pressure situations was missed in that very match. It was crystal clear there on the field. While Virat has a long way to go for Captaincy. Every captain learns with experience. Shastri with his Commentary content is enough to judge him to support the above comment.

Well frankly speaking, the amount of cricket India play and how professional most of their players are, India should only appoint a manager instead of a coach. For coaching they have other platforms like IPL, U-19 and domestic circuit. They should introduce top quality coaching in first class circuit.

WTF is going on, just look at the difference between ECB and BCCI, ECB clearly stated in case Ashes does not go on, there will be no other tours, whereas BCCI has already contacted Sri Lanka for a reversal of series? So its like from July play Sri Lanka for 3 test, 5 ODI and 1 T20 in Sri Lanka and again play Sri Lanka again in India for the same amount of matches. They could have just rested players if the meaningless 7 ODI vs Australia did not take place.

Yup in October the ODI leg vs Australians the same way we had in 2009 and 2013.

Imo, a bilateral series should be maximum 5 matches. 7 matches is too much and if the pitch is anything like last time, it will be a run fest again which is sad. I think the pitches used for NZ ODI series were good.

And BCCI being a hypocrite has cancelled a 7 match ODI series vs SA in SA saying it is too long and has now been trimmed to 5 match series or if they can, they will keep a tri-series

Because of our Horrible record in SA over the years across all formats.Last time too they trimmed the tour of SA in 2013 to just 2 tests and 3 ODIs and faced severe criticism from former SA cricketers.

For me, Rahul is the perfect fit for #4 or #5 position. Dhoni is no good in that position anymore. Move him to #4.

Middle-order lacks consistency compared to top order. Also I would like to see Hardik Pandya playing at #5.
