India Team Discussion

At this point I say an Indian win is the only possibility unless Rabada rout them under a 100!

That being said i love it when India lost and hope they can be defeated and handed a whitewash!

Best Luck Team India on awhitewash, defeat in the 3rd and final test!

If you look today's condition of SA team ...then I'm little bit confidence that India will win this test match.

Had a good prediction SA got all for 177.
If india would have chosen batting in pre matches india would have won the test series!

Such a freaking gentlemen he is :) I am proud to have seen him play cricket.

Team Coach Rahul Dravid couldn’t be happier, but he has a question for the BCCI: Why the disparity in cash prizes between him, his support staff and the winning squad?

this is the Indian spirit that made the world fall in love with this team, sadly the present test/odi make up is lacking in humility. Hopefully Dravid instills in the younger ones these values and they stay away from the 'rockstar' persona of the Kohli lead senior teams!

For a change I completely agree with you. I would not say everyone in the team lacks the humbleness and good spirit. Dhoni, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shami, Rahane they all are down to earth unlike the tattoo gang.

If there's one thing I like about Ashwin, it's this. He is always trying out something or the other in order to be in contention for selection. You won't see him giving up easily. Even if this experiment fails, I'm sure he will try out something else.

Ashwin will soon back in Indian team

Tests, sure. But ODIs? I think it will take some doing.

He is No. 2 in the world in tests. I know he was dropped for the Wanderers test but that was because of the pitch/conditions. He is an integral part of the test team and I don't see him getting out of favor in tests anytime soon.

Lets see how his leggie experiment goes. As you said in another post above, the good thing about him is that he keeps trying new things to improve his game. Maybe he can also start working harder on his fitness and outfielding if he really wants to be a permanent part of the limited overs sides. From the article posted by AK MODS, it looks like the initial impression of Ashwin's leg spin is a big success. But it is a big question mark on how he will do when faced with the pressure of bowling to top quality international players in a pressure cooker situation. IPL will give a decent indicator of that.

Yes Ashwin is known for trying different things but remember he has also lost form and style previously for trying to bowl stop and go deliveries. Yes try something different to stay in contention and being surprising to other batsman but do not experiment much. You may loose it completely.

Well he is at a stage now where he is almost completely out of reckoning in limited overs cricket and the captain has implicitly sounded out a warning that the wristies are pushing for a place in the test side. Ashwin's batting can help but only a little bit. His batting is not in the flamboyant zone that the captain wants. Ashwin has to spur up his armory drastically to stay put in the test side at least and retire on his own terms.
