India Team Discussion

I dont know why they behave like this - the management, not the media

Sending in reserver bowlers Avesh Khan, Deepak Chahar and Khaleel Ahmed without a senior player or coach to take the press meet is ridiculous. Instead, train your senior players on how to field questions from the media without creating headlines

This is becoming a trend in our country it seems ... First our PM avoids pressers like the plague, and now the cricket team follows suit with such actions

I'm a bit saddened by seeing T20s being more than twice the amount of Tests. Guess that's where the money comes in the most.

Just a question, why not have only league Cricket for T20s and leave the ODIs and Tests to the sake of International Cricket? It can live without T20s !!

I think it is because the T20 world cup is next year in Australia. We will definitely see more T20's up until the WC.

The increase in T20I's has got to do with the fact that we have the T20 World Cup next year and apart from the historic 2007 T20 WC win that created MS Dhoni the captain, India have hugely underperformed in subsequent T20 World Cups. I think its a smart and wise move to give increased focus on T20I's and prepare India to win it.

The problem is - eventually people are going to ask for international T20's after watching all these leagues around the world. I think right now the balance is right where T20I's are not being played in a large scale. Eventually as the attention span of the average cricket fan reduces to a significant level where ODI's feel like a snooze fest, T20I's will become commonplace.

Feb - March WT20 in Australia.
That is interesting, if the WC is in Feb-March... we are in for a tweaked up heavy T20 dominating first 6 months of 2020 with IPL following in April and May

Makes sense. Guess I'm too much of an old timer to prefer Tests over T20.

Oh I do too, I love seeing ODI's and Tests over T20 but I think it does make sense to have more T20's around when you have a T20 world cup.
