India Team Discussion

Indian bowlers weren't at their best, but Bhuvaneshwar is bowling well at death, atleast he is trying to bowl more yorkers and is getting rewarded for that as well.Good to see an Indian bowler atleast not getting thrashed in the final overs.

With all the money at BCCI disposal they should have a world class bowling coach working with these guys.

Exactly.India do have talent.Irfan Pathan was one good a bowler and everyone know what happened after.I believe Shami is the one to look out for but the problem is his injury and haven't heard any updates about it.Also Zaheer looked good since 2013 IPL,when he played for RCB, but still he too has fitness problems. If we had someone to look out for their fitness and coach them well,India would have had a world class bowling lineup by now.

Lets take Australia most of their fast bowlers have injury problems but a guy like Ryan Hariss they always played him when available, similarly Zaheer Khan is possibly the only world class fast bowler from India in the last century yet he didnt get picked when available!

True thing. But another thing I would like to say,is something Dhoni pointed out after the Bangladesh Series.Guys with pace have very less accuracy and the one with accuracy are all medium pacers. But I think there is nothing in it we can do about.

I was pretty confident Sandeep Sharma was one good talent but he failed in the highest level.Selectors picks Vinay Kumar even when he is mediocre but when he performs he is not even discussed.Nehra finally showed some promise in last IPL but he was overlooked and Sandeep Sharma who wasn't at his best was picked.

Nehra really never performed to his potential did he? Still mismanaged by the selectors.

Sandeep Sharma isnt good enough to be a international player. At most a decent T20 bowler but his lack of pace means any national team will tear him apart in an 50 over or test match...

^ As I said before forget Sandy, most of the guys on the tour apart from Rahane, Vijay, Bhuvi and Harbhajan are not Int'l class yet.

Apparently Ashwin said this, lol
Mushfiqur Rahim could have the ambition to be taller than Mohammad Irfan, there is no limitations to dream. But tbh Ashwin's batting is good enough in subcontinental conditions just like Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.

He is right chateshwar sir is a better choice for a permanent test batsman. He can perform and again show his abilities once again.

In test -
He has an excellent average of 47.11
He did not got many international opportunities but then also he made 6 centuries and 6 half centuries and 2073.

First Class -
He scored 8988 runs in 112 matches
has a very good average of 56.
29 centuries, 30 half centuries

One thing the first article was written in 2013 December a bit old one. Also no doubt Pujara is one good a player but his recent performances haven't been that good.Yes in his last outing he scored a century but except that he is not batting well for his abilities. He failed in England also in Australia ,just the reason why he was dropped. But he is still in the radar of the selectors and that's why he is selected for the Unofficial tests between A teams of India and Australia as captain. The selectors are giving him chances to prove himself and if he does perform,he would sure be selected.

Because he gets dropped from matches. 1 match he play and in 2nd he gets dropped so he has a lot of pressure that if he did not score he will not get dropped forever(what happened with yuvi and harbajan and many others). and hence under pressure he can't bat. one more thing that he can do practice and perform better in matches but playing match and doing net practice and ground practice is a lot different.(I.M.O)
