India Team Discussion

Actually the indications are the Arjun is a good batsman. Having big daddy basically assurance him an Int'l cap, it has to happen and we all know it. Arjun will not live and die at the Ranji level, he will live and die at the Int'l level.

However if he is not cut out for it, I would like him to not become Stuart Binny. When he gets his India cap, if he doesnt deliver he quitely leave the scene. If he makes it, its the greatest story ever !!

And thats what I meant. It has already started. Even if he has the talent and might have made it to the team on pure skill, he will always have to live with the "his dad is Sachin Tendulkar" tag. I feel bad for the kid. I am sure already at the U-16 level there are kids and families saying similar things about how their kid deserved to be ahead of Arjun and he only got these chances because he is a Tendulkar.

Yeah I remember Harsha Bhogle once said this comparing Tendulkar and Kumble - Tendulkar had to prove people right all the time, Kumble had to prove people wrong all the time.

I think Arjun is dumped with Kumble's burden. He will have to prove people wrong the whole time, those who will say he is there because of Daddy. Two failures and people will go, well he is Sachin's son, no wonder he is not getting dropped. I sometimes wonder if Stuart Binny would have had an easier time if he was not a selector's son.

Everything has a price.

A two year break for us CSK fans from IPL. Hurray!

Though, I will most likely follow scores of the team where Dhoni plays. But I am going to be totally dispassionate from any team this time. Passion runs only for CSK and Chennai!
I was of the same opinion when Ganguly left/dropped from the IPL. I thought to myself that I won't watch IPL until Ganguly comes back as a player. But eventually I was hooked up to IPL.
