Straight through the gate.

I just hope a quote I made some days ago doesn't come back to bite me.......

Mayank Agarwal looks a different player all together since he has been to the NZ tour last year. Was making him the LOI opener for that series our worse decision?

On the other hand, Pujara is looking really solid. Possibly could well shut the critics who said that Pujara can't play in England if he converts this start into a big score.

England Men’s Test Squad

Joe Root (Yorkshire) Captain
James Anderson (Lancashire)
Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire)
Dom Bess (Yorkshire)
Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire)
Rory Burns (Surrey)
Jos Buttler (Lancashire)
Zak Crawley (Kent)
Sam Curran (Surrey)
Haseeb Hameed (Nottinghamshire)
Dan Lawrence (Essex)
Jack Leach (Somerset)
Ollie Pope (Surrey)
Ollie Robinson (Sussex)
Dom Sibley (Warwickshire)
Ben Stokes (Durham)
Mark Wood (Durham)

No Woakes? - Apparently he's got a bruised heel...

Good to see Hameed back. :)

Thoughts on India declaring their innings this early?

I believe it wasn't necessary since our batters need more time out in the middle. Maybe Rohit and Indian team management had some different ideas?

Rohit skipped opening, Thakur came in at 5. According to the commentators India didn't want to carry on but couldn't stop playing without losing. In the end they've come out to field.

Thoughts on Shaw and SKY joining the team in England? Shaw, I get, but SKY I do not!

Shaw might even get a game or two, but with SKY, I feel he will simply be relegated to carrying drinks and strutting around like he owns the place( well, I do find his attitude very bad)

Tbh I don't get why do we even need players like Shaw and SKY for a Test series that too in England. Shaw has a glaring issue against the moving ball and is not very comfortable. SKY's strokeplay is flashy and we have seen Agarwal struggling in New Zealand so not a great idea that one.

I think considering the long list of injuries we had on our last overseas series, they are bringing in backups "just in case"

Okay, agree!

Shaw has played Test cricket previously and seems to be in good knick. SKY-? On what basis? By virtue of being a part of MI? See, don't get me wrong- he is a good player, but has been hyped up unnecessarily in the recent past. ODI/ T20, I get, but Test cricket? Its unfortunate that Shreyas Iyer is injured, else he would have been on that flights instead of SKY.

A bit more on SKY- it seems Harbhajan Singh thinks he is 3rd in line after Virat and Rohit- Now this is the b.s that needs to be culled. :facepalm
