Gibbs and Villiers rescued a bit in end but still, the game is in India's favour till the maestro ( Sachin ) is dismissed! :)

Amazing presentation Voldy :clap

Really like the presentation of this story mate. South Africa should have done better then 240 considering they only lost two wickets. Should be an interesting run chase if India start well.

India, 2nd Innings

India: 34/1
Overs: 10
Run Rate: 3.4
Required Run Rate: 5.17
Last Wicket: W Jaffer run out (De Villiers) 1 (2/1)

R Dravid 10 (20)
S Tendulkar 23 (26)

S Pollock 0/25 in 5.0 Overs
M Ntini 0/9 in 5.0 Overs

The Indians are off to a shaky start. The Batsmen are playing sensibly enough by learning the pitch. But if they carry this on, they might find themselves out of reach of the required run rate. The South African bowlers are tight. The batsmen should and must go for the big ones.

Dismissed batsmans Innings

Wasim Jaffer the star of the last match, was a total zero this match. He was allowed to score only 1 run, before Tendulkar paved is way back to the pavilion. Probably in a huger to make runs, Sachin Tendulkar called for a hasty single, but Jaffer couldn?t beat the ball. Devilliers threw a perfect throw to Boucher, who swiped the bails off.

Slow start by the Indians so far. Silly running by Jaffer and Tendulkar.

Sorry about the lack of updates... The bowling really annoyed me as they hardly scored and the matches were as boring as a test match... so i decided to restart the first ODI with a few changes in my AI...

Looking forward to it voldy :)

India Vs South Africa

Welcome to Johannesburg for the first ODI match between India and South Africa.

Conditions

Pitch: Dry
Weather: Sunny
Temperature: Warm
Chance of Rain: None
Outfield: Quick
Playability: Its a great batting pitch. The winner of the toss had better bat first, score a huge total, and put the opposition under pressure.

Line ups

Toss

South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. No mistake there, Smith knows the pitch as good as the back of his hand, and he might have already pulled the match a little to his side. India must hope for early wickets.

South Africa, 1st Innings

South Africa: 54/0
Overs: 10
Run Rate: 5.4
Last Wicket:

AB Devilliers 26 (33)
G Smith 24 (27)

I Pathan 0/27 in 5.0 Overs
S Sreesanth 0/27 in 5.0 Overs

South Africa has got off to a god planned start. Devilliers took control of the ball and scored runs off Pathan while Smith defended just incase they lost the wicket. Sreesanth held a tight line and made up for the mass of runs that Pathan gave away in his first five overs. However Smith couldnt control his agression and he went for the ball in the 10th over. Sreesanth gave away 17 runs in that over which included a six and 2 fours from Smith. If the South Africans can maintain this, they can expect a great total.
