Story Ashes 2006/7 [c2005] Warm-up OD Game

390 runs is quite a big ask, but I'm sure England are up to the task of getting that and winning this test!

Good presentation as always

England have started extremely well with Pietersen hitting 50 from as many balls and Strauss hitting a run-a-ball century. England started badly with McGrath getting consecutive wickest after Cook departed after an attempted hook and Bell clipping it staright to mid wicket. Collingwood joined Strauss at the crease and batted well making 16 but he too fell soon after when Lee fianlly got the ball in the right place finding the edge straight to Ponitng in the slips. However, sicne then England have been on top smashing boundaries frequently and with ease putting the Aussies under tremendous pressure.

D.Gower- Another good session for England and they coudl have this agme in the bag. However Austrakia are still on top with so many rusn to play with.

England require 202 to win

Strauss has batted beautifully once again, that's a very quick century. KP can stick around obviously and with Freddie still to come England should win this!

nice batting performance by strauss
nice read there
great story pal keep up

strauss and KP batting well so far but they need to carry this on

That was a good recovery from the English after looking in all sorts after the loss of Collinwood but this partnership is looking good. Both scoring at over a run a ball.

England were dismissed for 350 after Australia took the remaning 5 wickets. Pietersen fell first after he attempted to smash Clarke for six, missed and was stumped cunningly by Gilchrist. Following this Strauss departed for a well made 123. after he covered drive stright into the covers. This brought Flintoff and Jones together who batted well with them adding 50. However Flintoffs attempt to pick up a single ended in his dismissal. Following flintoff was Jones who failed to contribute much after falling the same way as Strauss. Despiet a good partnership between Plunkett and Hoggard they still fell 40 runs short.

D.Gower- The lead gained by Australia in the first inninsg ended up being the deciding factor in this game. The man of the Match was a simple choice with Strauss scoring 2 centuries with 105 and 123.

A.Strauss 105 & 123- Im disappointed we didnt win and i was hoping to be there till the end but the pitch bacem difficult to play on and it was not meant to be

Australia win by 40 runs & take 2-1 lead

Ahhh no!! I can't believe we lost that, you know on stumpings, you can press a button to go back into the crease.

It's in the manual :p
