South Africa, 1st Innings

South Africa: 48/1
Overs: 20
Run Rate: 2.4
Last Wicket: L Bosman c. Pathan b. H Singh 9 (35/1)

G Smith 32 (66)
AB Devilliers 1 (20)

I Pathan 0/23 in 10.0 Overs
H Singh 1/10 in 5.0 Overs

Bosman has been sent back to the pavilion, but Smith still holds fort. Although he is playing slowly, it is essential to get him out as quickly as possible. The Indian Bowlers haven?t been able to ball well, conceding 6 extras. With the fields now open, a tighter field and a tighter line can help the Indians restrict the Batsman.

Loots Bosman wasn?t successful yet again. He went off to a promising start, but was top edged to Harbhajan Singh and got caught by Pathan. Perhaps he was a bit overmatched there.

Smith Again :(
But India have put a check on the scoring rate of Africans! Still anything can happen!

Nice presentation as always Voldy! I think, Voldy is needed in real Indian team for making the opponent difficult in scoring runs ;)

South Africa, 1st Innings

South Africa: 240/2
Overs: 50
Run Rate: 4.8
Last Wicket: G Smith c. Tendulkar b. H Singh 76 (136/1)

H Gibbs 49 (43)
AB Devilliers 86 (102)

M Patel 0/49 in 10.0 Overs
S Sreesanth 0/61 in 10.0 Overs

The South Africans showed no mercy. Towards the commencement of the 30th over, Smith and Devilliers began to pile the runs off the overs of Sreesanth and Tendulkar, smashing them for boundaries. Smith scored a spectacular 76. But even after his dismissal, the onslaught did not stop and the Indians were relieved when the 50 overs came to an end, with Devilliers at an unbeaten 86 and Gibbs at an unfortunate 49. Harbhajan Singh was the only bowler to get wickets.

Smith showed what he was capable of. He shouldered the responsibility of a captain but wasted his wicket later on like a arrogant child being denied of something in need. His innings of 76 runs, lasted for 121 balls, which included 2 sixes and 10 boundaries. Towards the commencement of the 30th over, Smith and Devilliers began to hit boundries. But that didn?t satisfy Smith and he lobbed the ball to the covers, where he was caught red handed.
