Nice controlled start by the Indians. South Africa really need wickets now.

India, 2nd Innings

India: 118/2
Rest of South Africa: 124/7
Overs: 20
Run Rate: 5.9
Required Run rate: 0.23
Last Wicket: M Kaif c. Telemachus b. Tshabalala 4 (118/2)

W Jaffer 60 (69)
R Dravid 0 (1)

A Thomas 0/36 in 5.0 Overs
T Tshabalala 2/36 in 8.0 Overs

The Indians are nearing victory, They require 7 runs wicket 30 overs remaining and 8 wickets in hand. However the Indians might be disappointed because of the fact that they couldn?t get a 10 wicket win. The bowlers couldn?t trouble the batsmen, and the only one who had some success was Tshabalala.

Dismissed batsmans Innings

Sachin Tendulkar was in good knick and was on the verge of another 50 only to be denied by Tshabalala. Perhaps it was a tribute to Prince who was 9 runs short of his fifty. The wicket did not make any difference to the outcome of the match. But it sure did decrease the happiness of the Indians. He was dismissed after making a promising 49. Tendulkar missed an arm ball, which came from an over the wicket delivery. He tried a hook shot, which would have led him to his 50, but he missed and the ball, clipped the stumps.

Kaif failed to impress his selectors and fans yet again. 4 more runs to his grand career total, something that he wasn?t supposed to make. It would have been far impressive if he had stayed with Jaffer to end the match. The delivery was the same from Tshabalala, but Kaif mistimed his hook shot, and the ball top edged sky high, to fall in between the hands of the fielder for an easy catch.

India, 2nd Innings

India: 124/2
Rest of South Africa: 124/7
Overs: 30
Run Rate: 4.1
Required Run rate: 0.05
Last Wicket: M Kaif c. Telemachus b. Tshabalala 4 (118/2)

W Jaffer 64 (102)
R Dravid 1 (28)

J Van der Wath 0/1 in 5.0 Overs
D Steyn 0/23 in 5.0 Overs

If the first 20 overs were the last ball of a 20/20 cricket match, then the last 10 overs were the 1st ball of the 1st over of the 1st day and 1st session of a 5 day test match. In the last 10 overs the Batsmen put up 6 runs. The first run came in the 20.1st ball, which was a no-ball from Van der Wath, the only run he conceded in his 5 overs. And another came from a square drive from dravid. The remaining four runs was a boundary from Jaffer in the 29.6th ball. Steyn, who gave away at an economy of 9 in his first two overs, had an economy of only 1.66 in the last 3. With 10 more overs left from these fast bowlers, it remains to be seen how many overs they require to hit the single required to win. Van der Wath also had an LBW appeal turned down by the umpire. The victim was Jaffer.

Well I can't see India winning this game now :p. The required run-rate is to high :p.
