Indian Domestic Cricket

Speaking of Saurashtra, they are certainly not helping Mumbai's chances. Posted 202/2 after 90 overs of play with Kotak and Pujara batting on half centuries. Pujara has continued in his vein of hot form and it looks like the defending champions will crash out early this year.

And for UP Piyush Chawla scored an 80! Came in at number 6 as well.

This Kotak guy has been from morning. and only made half century. Like I said they batted so slowlt that even snail could beat them.

Yeah, Piyush was even slotted in at seven when he played for India. I guess this is why.

saurashtra showed exactly what is wrong with indian 1st class cricket.

UP and hyd match should be interesting, have to see how the new pacew hope sudeep tyagi performs, according to his coach he bowls at speeds touching 150kmph.

Have you got a written source for this?

A lot of low scores in this round of games. Orissa are looking like taking the 1st innings lead against Baroda led by a century from SS Das. Bengal were bowled out for 98 by Andhra with Manoj Tiwary failing again.

And Mumbai is all but out of the Ranji Trophy as Saurashtra are still batting. They have put up 464/9 at a miserable run rate of 2.57. Kotak scoring 162 off a painstakingly boring 514 deliveries.

Kerala are clawing their way back against Railways, now we need quick wickets in the morning session tomorrow. :upray

Saurashtra finally bowled out for 484 with Kotak carrying his bat. An unbeaten 168 off 543 deliveries secures the draw for Saurashtra and probably has eliminated Mumbai from the Ranji Trophy.

Here's today's Ranji round-up:

Madhya Pradesh require a further 302 runs to be promoted to the Super League next year at the expense of Parthiv Patel's Gujarat. Kerala vs. Railways looks like a draw and since Railways are just 9 runs behind Kerala's first innings score with 3 wickets in hand, it looks like they will secure the first innings lead that sees them in the Super League next season.

Orissa is fighting for their place in the Super League and failed to push home the advantage of an SS Das century and ended up taking a lead of only 39. Bengal were crushed by Andhra and I think they will be demoted down to the Plate League again. Tiwary was one of two players to get to double figures in Bengal's second innings with 35.

Mumbai reached 187/2 at the end of Day 3 and require a further 298 runs to bag a couple of points for taking the first innings lead on the final day of their game against Saurashtra. Delhi look set to beat Tamil Nadu after Badrinath failed for the second innings in a row.

Tighter now, we are 204 ahead but 3 wickets left, Jagadeesh looking good though from his stats, so we may have some kind of hope.
