Patel to Dhoni, SIX, what a man! Yem Yessssss Dhoniiiiiiiiiiii. Remember the nammeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Axar bowls this from over the wicket, but the change of angle does little to alter Dhoni's bat swing. This was fired in, too full on middle and leg, but Dhoni had decided he was going over midwicket come hell or high water, and that bottom hand of his is into play as the ball flies off the middle of the bat into the deep midwicket boundary. Shades of the good old helicopter in that one. The powerful wrists of his to the fore as he flicked it up and over. Wow!

That was the MSD that came out too late! But it was an incredible high watching him bat like that. And Vijay's decision to bowl Axar also reinforced Dhoni's long standing obsession of not bowling spinners in the final overs (especially last over) For all those who berated him for not giving the last over to Ashwin in the World T20 semifinal, well this is why he doesn't believe in spinners bowling the very end overs. No matter what trajectory or what pace you bowl, you are in the hitting zone as a spinner.

Steyn played a match, as far as I can remember. It was at the beginning of the tournament.

For all those who berated him for not giving the last over to Ashwin in the World T20 semifinal, well this is why he doesn't believe in spinners bowling the very end overs. No matter what trajectory or what pace you bowl, you are in the hitting zone as a spinner.

i would say it depends on batsman, the pitch and the spinner, the other bowler available, one of the things with MSD is that if he hits a bowler or type of bowler apart [read Irfan pathan, now see him friend zoning akshar if at all he makes to the team] he will not rate them high, same with many players! Not just last over but ashwin should have bowled more in general in the match especially when you have only 3 fulltime bowlers! ya he may have gotten hit but there was atleast a chance he may defend it more so than throwing the towel in by giving to kohli and hoping for a hero cup miracle!

I mean he gave jadeja the 19th over why not bowl ashwin more than say pandya who was spraying!


MSD Show all the way today but that doesnt change the fact he made pretty poor decisions in WC !
