And its official.http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-new...ned-captain-steve-smith-with-heinrich-klaasen
So Henrich Klassen gets picked to replace Steven Smith on the bank of very good performances against India in the ODI series also there are reports circulating that Tom Curran might replace Mitch Starc for KKR.
Yes. The teams are allowed to retain a max of 25 players and 8 overseas among all those who were signed by the franchise in any case. How does replacements work? Can Smith/Warner/Starc walk back into Rajasthan/Hyderabad/Kolkata teams next year once they return from injuries? And what happens to the players who are replacing them in this year? Do they stay back or are they relieved?
If the players can walk back into the team next year, I wonder why CSK is not trying to get a replacement for Mitchell Santner. I know CSK has a riches of spinners, but getting a replacement for Santner with either an overseas seamer or a spinner-batsman would be ideal.
The best example is of Chris Gayle and Dirk Nannes way back in 2011 - the former wasn't picked up in the auction but was bought later in as a replacement of the latter . The ruling for that requires a replacement to an injured player to be paid not more than the injured player himself , Nannes was bought was $650,00 and Gayle was given the same amount for a one year term. Later in 2012 RCB retained him through first trading window with perhaps a higher price. How does replacements work? On a side note, went to the Wankhede yesterday, unlike CSK we weren't allowed to enter the stadium.
800-8000/- here. Almost all tickets priced at 800, 1500, 2500 are sold out. And people like us can't spend more than that so gotta wait one more year to watch a match at the stadium.they have to pay 30% local tax on top of the 18% GST. It's really sad for the Chennai fans to cough up 1300 Rs minimum to watch an IPL game in the stadium. I hope the price comes down as the tournament progresses, as I cannot see the fan support sustaining at that price. If that price stays, I will definitely expect more empty spots in the stadium (along with the two empty stands, which are still painstakingly involved in an ugly legal tussle with the Tamil Nadu Municipal Corporation for almost 7 years now)
