Indian Premier League - General Discussion

That over was perfectly executed by Malinga except probably the 5th ball If I have to be really harsh. However, that last slower ball was executed to the perfection by Malinga.[DOUBLEPOST=1557684784][/DOUBLEPOST]P.S Bumrah is DEADLY in the death overs.

I didn't understand why Jadeja went for that second run. Why that hesitation? He is a very good finisher himself. Malinga has gone for 42 runs in his first 3 overs. You cant back yourself against him? If he stayed there and maybe got another single, Watson could've been in and faced the final balls.

Hats off to Shane Watson as well - A man made for the finals be it World Cup(2015) , Champions Trophy (2009) , IPL etc. he just gets those crucial innnings come the big stage.

Can't blame him. When you need single digit runs, every run counts and you run for every thing. Unless you are MSDhoni

IPL is a tournament where 7 teams plays to beat CSK in final.

Just Kidding!

Sorry CSK fans.

That last slower one was a peach! Absolute peach! Even a well set batsman would have been out on that delivery.

Hope this was not MS Dhoni's last IPL season! Hope and pray that he continues for a few more years. I think he can go two more, especially if he retires from ODI's after the World Cup. He will only have IPL left and can keep himself fit for it like Shane Watson has done.

Watson just shut my mouth spectacularly there with those two innings. But truth be told - CSK put themselves in vulnerable positions due to their team selection often. I understand that they backed Watson, but even for a player that you back, you can rest him for a game or two to give him a breather while you use other players well. CSK did not use Santner well in this season though Santner showed a lot of promise. I hope CSK has seen the end of Shardul Thakur. Though he had a pretty decent day with the ball today (surprisingly), he has to go. If CSK need a better core, they need to pick more better Indian pacers to aid Chahar, who should hopefully become the fulcrum of CSK (if I were in the CSK management, I would retain Chahar immediately).

Get the feeling that MI will win the title this year and continue the trend of winning titles in odd-ending years (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019). The batting looks good in all fronts, the bowling looks perfect. It will take a special performance to beat them.

I'll be happy if CSK reach the final but I will be surprised if they win the title. They will lose the final for sure if they make it there. If the final was to be held in the original venue of Chepauk, I'd have backed CSK in the final. But at Hyderabad on flat batting conditions, CSK spinners won't get purchase and the seamers have been cold this season. If NilayShah's comment is true, I feel DC will lose the Eliminator in Vizag to Hyderabad who have better spinners and a batting lineup that can play the slow conditions. I feel it will be a MI v CSK final with MI clinching it. Again, purely my guesses!
The prediction was spot on, Sai!

Wow that obviously should have been not out! Nigel Llong smokes some high quality stuff tbh. Absolutely stupid decision given how much time and how many angles he had to look at.
Looked out clearly, certainly the CSK fan in you wanted it not out..[DOUBLEPOST=1557693919][/DOUBLEPOST]An absolute deja vu of 2017 for me.

When will we see that Rohit Sharma as a captain is far better and deserves to lead the Indian team? Some can argue that a captain is only as good as his team, but Dhoni has often proved in IPL that such arguments are not valid. With a mediocre CSK squad for two seasons, he has led them to a title and a final. And Rohit has shown on the field and with the batting order decisions that he is a very astute captain. Most importantly, he displays maturity and humility on the field.

Hope Rohit gets to captain India soon on a full time basis. That way, Kohli can scale further peaks as a batsman.

I'm a huge Mumbai Indians fan. IPL is over, Mumbai has won. But the prouder moment was rather when Bumrah supported QDK despite he slipped away 4 runs off his gloves on the last ball of penultimate over. Such a champion!

Still believe Kohli is the right guy to lead the team. I am not looking what has he done as a Captain and neither saying that he is the best Captain that we have got ever. As a Captain he is decent at worst. He is not a bad Captain. I believe there has always been a over reaction to his failures just because people don't like the way he behaves on the field. I believe Kohli has got the mental strength and the character what it takes to lead the Indian team

If I am not wrong then Mumbai has played the most no of finals after CSK in IPL !!!! Followed by RCB

I was talking about De Kock's lack of experience of playing in a pressure cooker match :)
