Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Every team in IPL is allowed to start slowly and build an inning but MSD or CSK does that, its a problem. Double standards eh?

The Ashwin-Ponting-Jos Buttler-Mankad memes are flying everywhere on social media after today's incident. :lol

Btw, huge win for Delhi there. And Dubai is presenting with a crazily unique challenge where the team winning the toss are being made to eat humble pie. You choose fielding, you lose. You choose batting, you lose (KXIP vs CSK yesterday). Its tough to decide who will win. But thats the best and brilliant feature about Dubai where toss plays zero role in the result.

All talks about Mumbai being the best team in the IPL aside as we take on the Rajasthan Royals tomorrow and oh boy, we have lost the last 4 games against them, we lost only 5 last season, 2 against them. The only team which has got the better of us on a consistent basis is RR. I don't see any changes from us but it's a nervy game!

Let us hope all of Rohit, De Kock, SKY, Pollard & Hardik fire tonight and Bumrah be amongst the wickets with some decent support from Patto and economical spell from Rahul Chahar in the middle overs.

Both Rohit and De Kock like pace, hope they'll do it against Archer.

As expected, Tyagi looks very lively and this pitch will help him. He is definitely someone to look out for this IPL and hopefully, he gets more chances.

I just get a feeling that Mumbai are running away with the tournament with the way they are performing match after match and every player of theirs is in a terrific form. Their performance is so similar to that of CSK in 2011 IPL where the teams didn't have any answers to their performance. Everything looks so similar for Mumbai this time.

Krunal over Hardik is an interesting move. I think he was sent because he performed well in the last match. Let us see how he converts his slow start into a good innings.

And we have given away the momentum of the innings to Rajasthan after a good start. Everytime we play against them we make a similar mistake of throwing it away. Just hope Pollard and Hardik once again provide us some quick runs in the end overs.

Krunal over Hardik or Pollard, some crazy decision from Rohit and management. Even if he batted well in the last match, Hardik and Pollard should be batting ahead of him. Last 5 overs only 28 runs and all momentum lost.

Actually Chahal bowls mostly when the batsman are dominating the game. He is sort of game changer and hence he is always amongst the wickets most of the times. He is a wicket taking bowler so obviously when the bowling line-up is taken on the attack he would come on to bowl between those overs.

Wrist spinners mostly bowl in the middle overs of a T20 where you can get the most bang for your buck. You don't generally see Rashid Khan or Imran Tahir bowl in the powerplay or the death overs unless there is a specific match-up that a skipper wants to target or else if the game is in danger of slipping away. I don't think Delhi were in any position to do that until Chahal's over and for a wrist spinner like him who does not have much mystery to befuddle batsmen either it isn't a good move at all. They also dropped Zampa who could have compensated for Chahal in the middle overs and so it was even more of a puzzling decision.[DOUBLEPOST=1601999840][/DOUBLEPOST]

Very promising debut from him, never knew he could hit 140 consistently. He also has Bhuvi to mentor him at the state level which could be a big boon.[DOUBLEPOST=1601999896][/DOUBLEPOST]

Spot on. Krunal working one time on a small ground versus Kaul does not mean he merits a spot at five. This version of Krunal is a shadow of his former self with the bat.

Krunal played 17 deliveries, now imagine Hardik or Pollard playing even 10 of those. Could have been 20-25 more runs.

I can't see Mumbai losing their hold on the IPL trophy this year.

That is it, I do not see Royals winning this one. Mumbai with Boult, Bumrah, Pandya, Pattinson will eat the rest of the batsman.[DOUBLEPOST=1602001638][/DOUBLEPOST]Bumrah is back to his best. Need his this form for the Australia series.
