Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Why no ABD :mad He doesn't need shielding. Not on this form

I guess with two leggies operating in the middle overs they don't want him in so early.[DOUBLEPOST=1602773384][/DOUBLEPOST]And I don't agree with that decision too, I feel he could rotate strike and set himself a platform to launch. He can save his wicket and play responsibly if required, he is AbD after all.

Dube in? Is this the old left-right combination that once meant an inform Mo barely batting and RCB losing?

Bizarre ! VK's gift to KL

Another alternative would be for AbD's back to rest a bit by having him exclusively bat towards the death which leaves a question of why Finch is in the team in the first place. This does allow Maxi to bowl four entire overs.

Dube reminds me of a poor man's Stoinis. They're both very good in their scoring zones but can easily be restricted and don't have the range or expansive playing style to try an alternative move.

So, the best opening partnership of the IPL is being broken to fix an invisible problem and the most dangerous batsman in the world who isn't your Russell or Pollard but as accomplished as your skipper in a test match needs 'protection' against spinners?

What a pathetic joke! The move would have made sense if Moeen Ali was in the middle order.

I had called the inclusion of Gayle 2 games ago and this is a message to all the coaches in the world that they should never take the Punjab job. I also did not expect Kumble to put up with this nonsense.

Exhibit 101 as to why you don't mess with your batting order for unnecessary reasons.

Gotta love Kohli. Himself will bat at 3 in a dead rubber in the Indian team and play one's and two's in the 18th or 19th over but feels it's okay to mess about with the others.

By far the worst captain cricket has seen!

Good use of bowlers by Punjab today, letting Maxi get away with 7 rpo and four overs is awful stuff from RCB.

Today's performance from him was very odd. No point in minimizing dot balls when you don't even attempt to score boundaries in the middle overs. This is another reason why I feel he works best as the opener who can settle himself in with boundaries in the powerplay.

Oh Kings XI.

I would be shocked if they do not win this even with 8 overs of Sundar and Chahal to face. Wouldn't be surprised if Chahal bowls one in the powerplay which they could take advantage of.

I can see the tactics of sending one lefty in that situation head of ABD, but sending 2 player before him is disappointing... Washington play well as opener, but I doubt he do same in middle overs... Dube justified his promotion, but ABD needed to play more bowls... Hope after quick fire from Morris and Udana today, RCB tactics of batting order will change in coming matches...

KL bhai looks in the mood today[DOUBLEPOST=1602777968][/DOUBLEPOST]
