Indian Premier League - General Discussion

What is happening to Mumbai Indians? :p

Great knock from Venkatesh Iyer!! What a find he is turning out to be!!! Guess KKR seems to be enjoying this change to UAE conditions. A win today puts them above MI in the points table and truly brings them back into contention for the playoffs.

Iyer has been so good. This new approach from us has been top stuff. Hopefully we will win this one cause I remember we were in same boat last time and we still lost :p

Safe to say we will not lose from here.. :p. surely right? If we keep playing like this, we will get the crucial 2 points, will win against MI for the first since forever and the NRR will be so much better.

Great stuff from KKR! Its scary to see that their non-international top order core has won them two games in a big way while the others like Karthik, Russell and Narine haven't even come to the party yet!

KKR are above MI on the table. Rajasthan could also get into the groove although they have a tougher match coming up against Delhi Capitals.

MI don't seem to be in their best of forms to start the 2nd half. This IPL being divided into 2 halves might cost MI the place in top 4. They just don't seem to get going straight away. They would atleast need to win 3 of the next 5 games to give them a chance to secure a place in top 4.

I'm just devasted, a loss, that too against KKR, that too in such a poor manner. I am making a statement here, we'll win the remaining 5 out of 5 and finish top 2, that'll be the comeback!

Venkatesh Iyer has always been a solid player at domestic level. Glad to see him performing well on a higher stage. Was surprised that he never played in the IPL before too.

Hardik Pandya is proving to be a really bizarre case at the moment. I don't think he's playing sufficient cricket to just keep getting picked for MI, let alone India. We are managing that work load and injury but it is clear that he seems rusty when this management happens. I have a bad feeling that the beginning of the end of Pandya the bowler began a while back and not for lack of talent but due to injury. I won't be shocked if he completely stops bowling and just becomes a hard hitting white ball batsman. Will be tough for him to find a place in the Indian set up if that happens. At least, based on his range as a cricketer at the moment.

Should be a fun game at Sharjah tomorrow! A lot of folks must be loitering around the roads behind the stadium so as to pick up some costly cricket balls... :D The Kohli vs Dhoni subplot should add the extra spice too!

I hope CSK must have learnt their lessons from last year's defeats to RR and DC at Sharjah. CSK have changed their batting approach and now bat till No. 11, which should let them go hammer tongs. I think we will see Sam Curran replacing Josh Hazlewood tomorrow, though Josh got that prized wicket of Pollard last game. With Sam back, Deepak Chahar will bat No. 11 and he recently won a match for India in a T20 with his bat. I still wish we could have Hazlewood somehow, but Bravo has done everything right to stay and maybe his change of pace can work in Sharjah.

Can bet CSK will thrash RCB tomorrow and that Jadeja will be the architect of it while dismissing AB. Probably stumped by MSD.
