Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Hmm..why is Raina being spoondfed with a spinner, the type against which he has a SR of 180+?

Exactly the reason I am happy eventually Kohli will quit captaincy. Should have bowled a pace bowler, but no.. let me feed Raina a spinner.

Another clinical performance there from CSK! Bravo was a massive surprise, and I am sure @NILAYSHAH60 you must probably be surprised that Bravo has gone beyond that customary "one freak performance followed by mostly cold ones". Right from ball one, Bravo was on the money and it massively helped CSK that this pitch dumbfounded everyone with its slowness as the game progressed. Dhoni did mention in the toss that there is a tackiness about this pitch, but RCB's gameplay did not suit this pitch at all. Was seen with the way ABD and Maxi were pushed to the brink struggling to get the hits going.

Ruturaj seems to go from strength to strength. And good that Raina and Dhoni took the opportunity today to play themselves into the tournament. This is a surprising changeover from a CSK fan perspective, and hope this continues and goes all the way to a glorious end! If we lock our spot in the Top 2, our chances of reaching the final will be pretty high.

For a guy touted as a superstar, Sam Curran is likely going to struggle making the playing XI. Hazlewood was on the money today and might be preferred often for his pace and lengths/accuracy.

Frankly the pitch was turning pretty big in the second innings and with no pace off the pitch, they had to rely on their spinners for anything. And it just played right into Suresh Raina's alley.

You owe me a beer. For the prediction which I was certain would happen. And remember last year when I said this team needed one or two picks and they would be on their way?

I mean with the bat. As a bowler Bravo still can be match winner on slow pitches. And you can see why he is so successful in CPL with his bowling.

God Delhi!! Those guys are a pain in the butt! :D :p Anyways they look a stunningly well rounded team - the team to beat!! I have a feeling CSK's winning run might snap tomorrow against KKR, who are on a roll themselves and play in Abu Dhabi where they've won 2 massive games to resurrect their campaign back on track.

Sure thing!
:D
Your Moeen Ali prediction was the best one (ex-RCBian who goes on to show his worth for CSK).... But what has clicked for CSK is the batting depth and its consequential impact on their middle overs scoring rate. Start steady, and press the accelerator right from overs 5-6 until the end. Risky thing, and can only be pulled off with a very deep batting order and lots of experience. CSK had experience in truckfuls, but their batting order fix changed it. The problem now is, they cant play Tahir/Hazlewood or Tahir/Lungi together, which means they shorten the batting order. If they need an extra spinner, it has got to be Gowtham/Karn or drop Hazlewood for Sam Curran and get Tahir in for someone.

Manish Pandey strikes again! Or should I say... he hasn't?

I thought SRH would chase 125 very easily :lol
