Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Henriques played better innings than just "cameos". As an avid SRH fan, I find his contribution to the franchise massively underrated. He was a solid number 3 for SRH for quite some time.
I feel his and Warner's contribution in the early years of SRH were instrumental in the success of the franchise. He went to a drastic drop in form after 2016 season and eventually dropped out of the side. But KW had clearly taken up Henriques role in 2017-18. So SRH aren't missing him much as of now. Dhawan's absence created a huge hole in the side. From the bowling's perspective, Bhuvi has clearly been off for a while now so SRH must try to look for someone who can be groomed under him because I don't see him contribute to this side some 3-4 years later. He is another one of those Indian bowlers who got wasted to injuries. But I feel he was clearly a cut above the rest of the lot. And this is why it is painful to not see him deliver.

SRH again dropped Warner. I want SRH to get all out below 49.

Rajasthan is deepening the mid-table scramble for the 4th playoff spot. If they win today, they can leap up ahead of KKR, Punjab and MI. But SRH look all set to spoil Rajasthan's party today!

Epic choke loading......

I still have a feeling we're better than KKR، RR and P to sneak through as all are level on 4 out of 10, RCB at 6out of 10 might choke as well. If we lose tomorrow, I'm not watching IPL 2021...

Do not see KKR chasing this! Morgan is in horrendous form. I am happy he is leading England with that form.

Anyone who thinks being a 'World Cup winning captain' equals to being a good captain or a good cricketer should follow Morgan and Clarke's careers. Clarke was always more fascinating because he was tactically the most astute captain of his time and a very accomplished test batsman but I never found him worthy of being in the AUSSIE white ball team, let alone captain. Less said about Morgan, the better. He's by some margin the worst batter in the current English set up and to see him captain or even be part of an IPL franchise is outright shocking and pathetic. To date, I don't remember him playing a knock of substance in tough conditions or against worthy opponents. I remember being in my teens and getting frustrated seeing Indian batters play tests in SENA countries and each one of them bar Tendulkar would hobble and haggle till they were put out of their misery. Morgan is that against spin. To make matters worse for himself, he decided to take on the best spinner in India and someone who loves this sort of altercation. Absolute amateur hour. Felt like watching men vs boys.

KKR truly look good enough to reach the final four! They should've won that game against CSK (but for a Jadeja special) and now are easing to a win against DC. They truly look a transformed side, possibly due to multiple factors including the change in venue? It would be truly sad if KKR dont make it.

I still think MI is going to make a massive mighty dash to the playoffs. They got a serious introspection after last game (vs RCB) and the entire world rambled on and on and on about the form of their India internationals... Should certainly hurt them and make them hungry and they will come out with a point to prove. CSK of last year had a serious flaw in their strategy/approach, but for MI this year, its just things not falling into place. Wont discount them out until they are truly out :D

2 runs needed in 13 deliveries, you want to go for the glory shot? A good win for us but a little too close for my liking. Iyer is proving out to be a really good change for us. Gill is not and will not be a T20 specialist. I think he will have a wonderful career in Test and ODI's. #KorboLorboJeetbo onto the next.

Also I do not understand why Dinesh cannot captain. He is not playing worst compared to Morgan. Hope Pant's finger is good. Also how fragile and barbie doll Russell is..

I dont agree with that assessment on Gill. He is not a Manish Pandey. Today's pitch was really tricky (Sharjah has been such a bummer this season; very very weird). The likes of Gill, Ruturaj might struggle a bit initially on these tricky pitches but as they accumulate experience, they will thrive. And when you give them a true pitch, their stroke play will truly flourish.

Looks like DK is still pseudo-captaining the team. He is the guy giving most of the inputs from behind the stumps (atleast from what I noticed during the KKR vs CSK match).

100% agree on Michael Clarke.

A fantastic leader and a very good ODI player as well but yeah in that cycle of 2011-15 he was injured most of the time and George Bailey fill gap not only as captain but also as batter only to be dropped out of playing 11 in the eventual world cup squad.
