Indian Premier League - General Discussion

I have a strong feeling Jordon will be doing well for CSK tonight. He is a player from RCB pilgrimage.

An allrounder who had shoulder issues and couldn't bowl, had very poor IPL season just before the WC, easily made it to the T20 WC
As much as I agree that Hardik was a poor selection in the squad, I am still not abke to understand what exactly does the Mumbai lobby have to do with this?

As far as I remember, the then captain, played for the state of Delhi and was in charge of RCB. The Chief Selector doesn't hail from Mumbai either. The coach, yes. The player, no(well he played for Mumbai Indians then)

II find it quite amusing to pin the blame on the Mumbai lobby for things that dont really work out in Indian cricket.

Jadeja's captaincy on point today. "Moeen -> Mukesh -> Theekshana -> Moeen -> Mukesh".. Very good Jaddu! And he gets Virat!

One thing about Gaikwad, unless I'm mistaken, last season was his first full one in the IPL. So this season there's plenty of data available to teams to formulate strategies. Might not necessarily be ways to get a player out but areas to bowl that a player is weak in scoring. With the advent of data driven analysis, I think you might see a lot of players have great first seasons and then struggle in season 2 or 3 and maybe disappear. Other factors could play a part, like @SaiSrini mentioned, but I think players might burn bright early in their careers before struggling somewhat and the emphasis will be on them to turn it around.

As for RCB. Moeen got out in the 7th over and CSK were 36 for 2 (I'm sure I looked over from preparing my tea that Uthappa was about 20 from 20). So many teams seem to just hit out when faced with a big target. Yet we consistently see, if you get to Squiggly Instarmart Fast & Furious Five with wickets in hand, teams can get close to bigger scores. You want Maxi there at over 15 where he can clearly the boundary at will not out before the power play is barely over.

I love teams going hard but sometimes it seems so braindead.

The way CSK has played so far this season, even from this point it seems CSK might lose here. These 2.youngsters are already putting on a show!

Only CSK can find a way to drop the best bloke from their three slow bowling pace all-rounders.

Today has been rather nice for once though. Who knew that playing an attacking spinner at long last would actually be effective in the format where they run riot?

Rayudu's catch reminded me of that blinder taken by Ponting in 2013 IPL when he Captained MI.
