Indian Premier League - General Discussion

What a game that was. Nail bitter game!
Mumbai Indians have done it again. They've won the IPL title once again.

Brilliant game of Cricket that was. :clap[DOUBLEPOST=1495390941][/DOUBLEPOST]
I'll take low scoring thrillers like this over run fests any day of the week
Me 2.
It's a fact. Low scores matches are the most thriller matches.

As @SaiSrini rightly pointed out, this Pune side has too many accumulators and not enough aggressive scorers. With 10 overs to go at 7 runs per over, they should've taken the initiative and had at least one big over to put the game to rest. Instead, they had no option but to play it safe due to lack of hitting ability and depth. Still, this was a side that should've finished 6th at best. The fact they were a run away from winning the title is a huge credit to Smith, MS and Fleming. Hope the trio are reunited next season for CSK or any other franchise.

Though MI won the [HASHTAG]#IPL10[/HASHTAG] , Pune should get all the credit because the tournament didn't started well for them while MI remained on the top all the way .
It was Pune who had to do the hardwork to come from bottom to top 2 .
Last year , they were 7 or 8 I think ?

Pune ! :clap

As I have been saying this from the beginning, this is not a run scoring pitch and Krunal Pandya did so well to take them to 129. Pune could have been a lot more smarter in the Powerplay and also maybe Smith could have tried to keep up better with the scoring rate. But that's all "ifs and buts". And yes, I am not going to blame Dhoni here because he was setting himself up for his final slog but Bumrah had his day today and Dhoni was gone! We saw how Pollard came and tried to bash from the first ball, but was out third ball going for a second wild slog. This is not the pitch where you can just hit easily and Dhoni did the right thing and it was just not his day. Also sending Dhoni ahead of Tiwary was a logical decision too as Tiwary was in much better batting form than Dhoni and has helped Pune seal tough chases this season. You can't blame Pune much. It was just that the game fell in Mumbai's favor and it was their day.

Congratulations to Mumbai Indians fans! Very well done Pune on a great season. Last season, they were No.7. This season, they end 'runners up'. This was a fabulous IPL final and totally worth it! And surprisingly, the Indian umpires got some brilliant decisions today when it mattered most, after having been awful for most season.

I think Pune badly missed Ben Stokes here. If he was in the Finals, you never know what would've happen.

And I should say - I have nothing but huge huge admiration for Jasprit Bumrah. He has turned out to be one of the world's best death bowlers at the moment. I would be absolutely devastated if Bumrah is not the first name among the bowlers when India face up to Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. Bumrah and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar have to be our frontline seamers. Maybe India can play 3 specialist seamers (Bumrah, Bhuvi and Shami) and rely on the batting of Jadeja and Ashwin for the batting depth.

They almost pulled it off with him. They did it in Qualifer 1.

In a way, the best team in the league phase won the tournament, deservingly.

I do see Dhoni and Fleming's reunion for the "Men in Yellow", but I feel Steve Smith could go back to Rajasthan Royals (more so if the retention policy is given). And going by the murmurs and the implicit talks from our current star players (Virat Kohli, the biggest), it looks like teams do want the retention policy. And if the retention policy is kept in, then it makes sense for Pune and Gujarat to exit the IPL so that they don't cause confusion and complications.

What a win by Mumbai!!! Looked like Pune's game after the awesome bowling effort and being 98/1 at one stage. Mumbai fought brilliantly in the end. Bumrah's over was the turning point, when he got Dhoni and gave just 3 runs. put the pressure on RPS. I think Pune played too cautiously because it cost them right at the end. On a slow pitch, it wasn't easy to get clean hits.[DOUBLEPOST=1495392506][/DOUBLEPOST]Lol Buttler. :lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:eek::eek::eek:
