I once met a family friend while travelling to my native town. He used to play U-19 cricket in Mumbai. Told that he has played with Shivam Dubey during the time.

What he told next just blew my mind. He told that Shivam Dubey was a crap player in the team. His father is a big shot tycoon. And a lot, lot, loads of stash was paid in order to put him in the Indian squad. It was due to his father's deep pockets that he was selected at every level, all the way upto the international side.

Shivam Dubey getting selected in the Indian National squad is the proof that cricket in India is a sell out sport.

Seeing that this pitch is slowing down, I would reserve judgement. But there doesnt seem to be enough turn. Rashid picked wickets because of his pace, not turn.

To Ahmedabad’s credit, they’ve truly made this a spectacle and have also produced a good pitch for this game. Started off great for batting, shows signs of slowing but a game of 175 in todays times is above par.

The ground looks gorgeous and the only grouse was the pitch.

Yes. He’s on cortisone injections for his right knee. He might bowl as the season goes.

Geez, shouldn't csk wait for him to recover rather than risking him? They have ample number of all-rounders to choose from.

When you pay that amount of money, you expect players to play irrespective of their fitness status.
