I seriously expected KXIP to retain Ashutosh and Shashank. When they did not retain Ashutosh, I was literally shocked.

Some smart buys by Hemang Badani for Delhi, the guy won TNPL multiple times as coach, won Capitals franchise their first trophy with Dubai Capitals, hope with Nattu and KL, they will go long in the current season.

LSG should have won this with Pant's stumping or with proper fielding, when Mohit escaped to the other end. The way LSG started their innings, I thought they will atleast get 250 here.

Shashank was more proven than Ashutosh last season. Both were brilliant but Shashank was better. Prabhsimran as opener wk was a must retain, so it had to be Ashutosh who had to be left out. But don’t know why PBKS didn’t go harder for him in auction against DC

PBKS has a very Ponting-esque flavour to the side. I think it was apparent with the way they approached the auctions. My only wish for PBKS now is to have Ponting at the helm for atleast 3-4 years alongside Shreyas. Constant cropping and cutting has harmed them over the years.

Pant had an ordinary day on the field. the main question though- why didnt he trust Shardul at the end?

Tewatia @6!! And that is assuming that Rabada will be replaced by Glenn Phillips as impact sub. That's some shoddy batting lineup there. This is exactly why I was screaming for GT to get more batsmen when they happily let go the chance to get hold on the likes of Jitesh and Ashutosh etc.

If not for the late buy of Phillips, they would have ended up with only 3 reliable batsmen in Gill, Buttler and Sai Sudarshan.

God forbid if Shahrukh gets injured or is out of form, I can see no local attacking batsman in the squad.

Washington can be played to pose a mirage of a long batting lineup but from what I have seen of him in short format, he is hardly reliable with the bat. He is handy in Tests but not at all in T20s so far.
