Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Ravi Shastri is now getting on my nerves! Too cocky, too Harsha Bhogle-ish, at the toss. There are far better commentators out there. He did the same drunken intro during the CWC 23 Final and the WT20 2024 Final.

Star Sports, on the other hand should be awarded the Pulitzer, for how to drive the narrative towards Kohli, every now and then.

Hope someone else gets the broadcasting rights after 2027

I think Sony will try to get the rights as they have done in the past. More money will be involved in 2027 as IPL is looking to make the season longer 2027 onwards

Depends upon how the rights are auctioned off. Currently,we have only 2 players in the field- JioHostar and Sony-ESPN.

If the BCCI decides to lump together everything,Jio might emerge as the winners. However,if they separate the digital and TV rights, there could be some new players in the fray.

Kohli being very slowly, unlike some of the other games he has played. Brings back memories of CWC23 Final- might slow down the scoring rate,if he continues this way.

From Punjab, Arshdeep has been an object disappointment so far.

I have lost count of the number of times Matty Hayden has called out Kohli's slow batting. He needs to get a move on, if they are to reach a decent score. Patidar was playing well, but lost out cause he felt the need to attack, seeing as Mr Stat Pad wasnt going to.

English commentary is much better than Hindi commentary where they keep glazing Kohli,Rohit and Dhoni. I prefer English comm. as those guys aren’t as biased as the Hindi guys. Star Sports should look to improve the commentary

Jitesh Sharma is bringing in some much needed joy to this game. Lovely hard hitting from him so far.

Prabhsimran Singh has been one brilliant performer for Punjab in recent times. He has given them good starts more often than not. Very underrated for someone with the IPL strike rate of 150+ and double the average runs per innings than the one over batsman - Rahul Tewatia.
