Yep it did. It didn't allow the young Indian stars to flaunt their skills and play against some of the best players in the world, allowing them to then improve their core skills. The IPL certainly didn't help players like Shaun Marsh, Luke Pomersbach, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Piyush Chawla, Umar Gul, Gautam Gambhir, Yusuf Pathan, Shikhar Dhawan, Albie Morkel, etc etc, the list goes on. The IPL has been extremely beneficial for young players around the world, and it will continue to allow them to test their skills and learn from the experienced stars around them.
I like the IPL alot, I think it's massively improved the standards of world Twenty20 Cricket, especially the six hitting. Guys like Raina are now capable of hitting massive sixes which they just weren't capable of a few years back. That's surely good for the game? I'm hoping the English guys that go over will develop their skills in a similar way, would certainly improve our chances of winning the T20 World Cup!
