TBH the most wack sporting event ever. I know many Indians will disagree with me, but common the last IPL took place totally failed.

Yep it did. It didn't allow the young Indian stars to flaunt their skills and play against some of the best players in the world, allowing them to then improve their core skills. The IPL certainly didn't help players like Shaun Marsh, Luke Pomersbach, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Piyush Chawla, Umar Gul, Gautam Gambhir, Yusuf Pathan, Shikhar Dhawan, Albie Morkel, etc etc, the list goes on. The IPL has been extremely beneficial for young players around the world, and it will continue to allow them to test their skills and learn from the experienced stars around them.

I like the IPL alot, I think it's massively improved the standards of world Twenty20 Cricket, especially the six hitting. Guys like Raina are now capable of hitting massive sixes which they just weren't capable of a few years back. That's surely good for the game? I'm hoping the English guys that go over will develop their skills in a similar way, would certainly improve our chances of winning the T20 World Cup!

The amount of money floating in the game is very dangerous, while it could take over the originality of the game, keeping in mind the format of the game it is in. I personally believe it would be a good experience for the young cricketers playing in such a high level and how to work with big players and things. Don’t know if it would much effect their cricketing skills (test cricket).

To be fair Albie was know long before IPL at least to SA crowds and it was the t20 wc in SA that put him on the map. That tournament is what got the super kings to pay the amount they did for him in the auction. I do agree IPL has helped him a bit especially with the bowling but it helped those other players you mention more.

The rest I agree with.

I believe IPL will actually help SA. If some of our younger guys can get IPL contracts they won't see the need to go the kolpack route since they will be getting enough money so they can wait it out till they get to the main international team.

Not only that. Just the exposure alone is quite a big thing.

Guys, I can tell you with a great deal of certainty that this season IPl is going to be spectacular..

When i saw only 1 person has voted for the 2nd option, i knew it was Mr Skater ;)

I wonder if KP can turn BRC into a good team. They are still full of test players though. KP vs. Warne is going to be good, don't get me wrong, but McCullum's opening night 150 odd is going to be difficult to top. :p

YA IT IS

full of attitude
thats wat SRK is about

vickyrox added 0 Minutes and 55 Seconds later...
