Can't wait to see BCCI cancel it for WC as well, while ICC just sits there.

And we are not even mad about this stupid UDRS. We are angry because yet again we have to see this rich board controlling ████ with their money power. No, it's not because it's India or because they are number one, nor because we are jealous, not because we hate India or anything. So stop with that.

It's plain and simple. Your board is a control freak. They should just calm the fearsome tweak down and follow the orders, instead of try and do things their own way.

As of now usage of UDRS is not made mandatory. Not having UDRS does not mean that in a scenario where some very bad decisions are made, playing countries (or one on the receiving end) can't question the standard of umpiring.

If you refuse to use a system that helps reduce the bad decisions then you can not complain if you get the odd poor. Through your action you show you would rather have the bad decision then use the means available to reduce that risk.

If that is your attitude you have no right to complain about it.

System's credibility though overwhelmingly accepted is questionable by some. The action to not opt for UDRS by BCCI is because they dont consider it to be foolproof, it doesnt comprehend how you have put in your post. This decision taking power is what should be taken away from individual boards if ICC sees it fit to apply the system to all test playing nations.

Seeing how lately some decisions have been made I too dont see any harm in BCCI adopting UDRS, as atleast those big inside edges to pads can be spotted (which is infact big decline in standard of umpiring as its happening far too frequently) On the other hand all would have to contend with technology in regards to height and movement of ball which is by no means foolproof.

I've never got that logic. MS Dhobi spouts the same stuff. No technology can be flawless, especially when it comes to LBW decisions. But the fact is that technology is more correct and more reliable than just umpires. The combination of umpires and UDRS significantly decreases the chances of a bad decision, or a series of bad decisions affecting the game. Unless, of course, the team in question just doesn't know how to use UDRS in a tactical manner :rolleyes.

I don't see UDRS getting used in any match involving India in the foreseeable future, in home matches especially. I blame Tendulkar for this, the guy has been against UDRS ever since that game against SL and of course he always gets what he wants...

Tendulkar and Dhoni (its not Dhobi, stop insulting him) have their opinion. Its not their problem if the BCCI act in favor of their opinion, and the ICC act in favor of the BCCI? And the other boards are keeping quiet and not revolting because they dont want to take on the big brother BCCI (and lose sponsorship, lose lucrative tours to/from India, etc).

Umpires' referrals to 3rd Umpire using technology for decision making is one thing and Challenging decisions of umpires using the same technology is entirely another.

Usage of technology by field umpires has been accepted by all, whether it be most effectively used for run-outs or stumping decisions or at times inconclusively used for low catch scenarios.

However when it comes to challenging and overturning the decisions made by field umpires following are examples of few scenarios:
i) Major blunders being avoided. (which in views of those opposed to UDRS becomes more an issue of low standard of umpiring)

ii) Close decisions being challenged, retained or overturned on basis of technology (thus bringing about the 2nd debate, that the technology is not yet foolproof to become decisive for such close calls)

Offtopic but Gibbs autobiography is sold out on Amazon. Anybody know any other online retailers shipping to USA? Tried Ebay too.

I'd try to find a link to a shop or the book on SuperSports website, probably your best bet, might be able to get it shipped from SA

Hope Kirsten can help us in getting used to the conditions quickly. I am not too worried about the bounce and pace that the pitches might offer. I am pretty sure SA wont be inclined as much towards pitches with seam movement (they will put themselves at risk of being blown out by our fast bowlers too; Zaheer is a spearhead and Sreesanth has had success before in SA). If we get used to it quickly, we will do well, PERIOD! Our batting is excellent, our bowling is capable of picking 20 wickets on sporting wickets, to win a test match.

I can't see Ojha getting a game to be honest.

He should be picked ahead of Harbhajan in my opinion. On a non-spinner friendly wicket, Ojha would offer more to the side than Bhajji. Bhajji is pure crap with the Kookabura and has been crap in general for the past couple of years. There is no reason why he should be an indispensible member of the side.

Thats actually un-intentional. The normal QWERTY keyboard has the 'b' and 'n' located nearby and that might just be the reaosn why ppl use Dhobi instead of Dhoni.

Ojha should be played ahead of Bhajji. I agree with this one. In fact, I feel R Ashwin should get a chance in Test matches now. Bhajji has lacked discipline and variety and has ceased to be a spin bowler.
