Spectacular way to get 100, singlehandedly keeping this match alive. Hope the tailenders give him enough support.

Yusuf needs to learn how to play a slow innings when he needs to. Great 100 though. He could have gotten us so much closer, 50 off 60+ balls.

----------

lol Zaheer is playing better than the entire top order bar Patel.

Well played SA, congrats for winning the series. You guys chocked in those 2 games what happened here lol.

Great series overall, from tests to ODIs.

fling :mad i jinxed him... Anyway, a great tour came to an end. A perfect answer to T20 hit and giggle fans who thought Test cricket or ODI cricket is dead.:lol
I cant see raina making it to Indian XI if everyone is fit.
This should be Starting XI on Feb 19
Sachin
Sehwag
Gambhir
Kohli
Yuvraj
Pathan
Dhoni
Bhajji
Zaheer
Ashwin
Munaf

Yusuf has really surprised everyone this series. Everyone expected him to fail on bouncy tracks but with some clever shot selection he proved everyone wrong.

Saffers, why are you so inconsistent:mad? Can't you guys just choke again :p

Congrats SA but wow Yosuf, he was almost to pull an miracle. Great game and love the Yousuf's batting.

Many positives from both sides for this series to go to WC.

Raina hasn't performed in this series but lets not forget the beast that he is on Indian soil, lol. And that's what matters for the WC.

I guess its safe to say, Afridi + brain = Yusuf Pathan:p

Who are you gonna drop then? You just can't ignore the performances o Yusuf or Kohli. If you do, then it would send a bad message to the younger players. That performance don't count.

I'm really hoping that Gambhir gets injured :p. Then there would be no selection problem. Top two pick themselves and then kohli can come at number 3 followed by arguably the most destructive middle order in the world:Yuvi-Raina-Pathan-Dhoni.
If all those fire in one game  jeez

He definitely got himself set. It was a bit strange. Even when he didn't time the ball, it could go for six. When he did time the ball, there were some amazing shots. After a relatively sensible 42 in 44, he scored 63 in 26 balls.

And a lot of that was warranted. They needed to score pretty quickly and Zaheer wasn't really scoring at all. Maybe hoping to win the game inside the Batting Powerplay was as sensible a plan as they could have. It would certainly be more skilful to score just the right number of runs and then settled down again to play the percentages, but it's still not easy to exert such control.

I think Yusuf has been the find of the series. I was actually thinking to myself, even at around 120/8, that "Yusuf is still there, we might still get there". This is a big difference from the Yuseless Pathan stuff of a few weeks ago.

I think he has really come of age as a cricketer and deserves to be in the Indian side. I always felt that he was only good when we had a launching pad, that at a score of like 70/5 he would be, well, Yuseless. But he has shown twice this series that he is up to the task.

Yusuf's form is a big positive for India before the World Cup. This could have been 5-0 but 3-2 is a fantastic result for us this series. And no Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir made it much more tough for us because we had to play the likes of Vijay and Patel and hurt our balance.

I still back Raina in Indian conditions because he will start connecting there big time, and when he gets going, he is a beast. He should play the two warm up matches. Kohli and/or Yusuf should sit out of the warm up games and all the rest should play the warmups to get batting practice and tune themselves back into Indian conditions. I think we can still be the force to reckon with. We are being tagged favorites for the cup. Hope we justify it.
